Chapter 585: Soft-hearted When Playing the Victim
"But you're already married. I don't want to be known as someone who climbed up by having a child. I'm a teacher now, and reputation is very important," Chloe's eyes welling up with tears as she looked at Donovan pitifully.
"You must have this baby!" Donovan ordered through gritted teeth, his voice hoarse as he whispered in Chloe's ear.
Donovan felt a bit like he was reaping what he had sown; he hadn't expected Chloe to suddenly get pregnant!
"I'll try my best!" Chloe replied. "My mom is still outside."
"With me here, Dylan won't lay a finger on your mom," Donovan said, like he was holding back something explosive.
"I want to go out to check."
Donovan couldn't help himself; he bent down and gave Chloe a light kiss on the cheek.
It wasn't enough. Donovan then kissed Chloe on the lips.
After the kiss, Chloe looked tearful, almost like a young girl. "Am I the mistress now? I don't want this."
Donovan's face turned ashen. He deeply regretted his decision.
But when Donovan remembered how Chloe had thrown herself into Derek's arms as soon as she arrived at Emerald Isle, his anger flared up again.
Donovan hated how he softened every time she acted pitiful, but Chloe's pitiful look really did soften his heart.
In the living room.
Dylan kept staring at Paula as she ate, slowly and leisurely, as if time had stopped.
Paula seemed like she had never met Dylan before, completely different from the shrewd Pamela Dylan had once known.
"Is your name Pamela?" Dylan leaned in and asked.
"Paula."
Dylan scrutinized her more closely and noticed a small mole by Paula's ear.
Dylan took an old photo of Pamela from his pocket.
In the picture, the movie star Pamela was smiling charmingly on TV, captivating men. She had a small mole by her ear, just like the one on the woman in front of him.
But Paula's demeanor was completely different from the Pamela Dylan had slept with.
Dylan had come to Chloe's house today for two reasons: to confirm what Donovan had told him and to ask if Pamela had been pregnant back then.
After leaving Dylan, he had only heard rumors about Pamela but had never laid eyes on her.
But clearly, the Paula in front of him was not the fake Pamela.
Eventually, Dylan left.
Dylan had been deceived by the fake Pamela for thirty years, always thinking he had slept with his dream girl.
It turned out Dylan had slept with the dream girl's sister, the fake Pamela!
A long time after Dylan left, Donovan and Chloe came out of the bedroom.
Donovan also left with his hands in his pockets.

[Why do you want Cynthia to know you're pregnant? Aren't you afraid she'll hurt you? Last time she tried to jump off the Stellar Corp building, and you lost your job because of it.]
[It's okay, let her know,] Chloe replied.
So the next day, Saoirse and Isabel discussed for a long time before going to the cafeteria to eat.
They deliberately waited until Cynthia came to eat.
Pretending not to see Cynthia, they whispered in front of her:
"Ms. Baker is pregnant, having a second child. That's wonderful. I hope it's a girl this time. Mr. Blake is so handsome, and Ms. Baker is so beautiful. Their child must be very pretty."
"Yeah, I also want to have two kids before I'm thirty. That would make life feel complete, and then I can really focus on my career."
