Chapter 438 Has Ms. Baker Ever Been in Love
Chloe's face was shrouded in a layer of mist. 'Pamela is so vicious,' she thought.
Chloe knew that over the past few years, Pamela's business and influence had grown bigger and stronger. Additionally, she possessed considerable connections and resources overseas.
"By the way, Chloe, when do you have a class? I'd like to sit in," Barbara said, pretending to be interested.
"Next week," Chloe replied, then turned and left.
Chloe's hand was clenched tightly.
The four of them went to the same private room as last time at the Willowbrook Restaurant.
Donovan lit a cigarette.
Chloe was looking down at the menu.
"Francis, what do you want to eat?" Chloe asked, stroking Francis's head.
"Anything's fine."
"Francis isn't picky."
"I know what Francis likes to eat. Let me order." Jeffery leaned in close to Chloe. "This one. All kids love it. Francis will definitely love it too."
Francis felt very aggrieved inside.
Donovan sat in his chair, smoking leisurely, while observing the pair with their heads close together. They really did look like a perfect match.
Jeffery was very proactive, always talking to Chloe.
Chloe has always been quite pretentious.
"Jeffery, you never mentioned you had a crush on your teacher. I worried for nothing." Donovan flicked his cigarette ash.
Jeffery smiled. "I was afraid you'd tell my Mom. Chloe is five years older than me, and I was worried my Mom wouldn't approve."
Donovan laughed again, but the smile never reached his eyes.
"What's her name? Chloe?" Donovan pretended not to know Chloe.
He was really good at pretending.
Chloe kept her head down, playing with her fingers.
She had planned to tell Jeffery the truth during this meal, but obviously, Barbara and Betty had stopped her.
Moreover, she wasn't quite sure why Donovan wasn't telling the truth either.
Maybe he thought it was best to get rid of his ex-wife as soon as possible.
Chloe's heart felt heavy.
"Yes. Chloe. She's my teacher." Jeffery glanced at Chloe's face from under her cheek. She was so beautiful; just looking at her made him feel inexplicably happy and comfortable. "Last time I ate here, Chloe was walking downstairs, and I drew a picture of her called 'Chloe.' I wonder if you saw it, Mr. Blake?"
"I didn't see it. But it seems the whole school knows about it." Donovan maintained a smile that sent chills down people's spines. The picture that had surfaced in Jeffery's dorm was of Chloe, and at Kenneth's house, the one he accidentally drew was also Chloe.
"Mr. Blake, do you know the whole story?" Jeffery also smiled.
Jeffery's smile and Donovan's smile were clearly different.
One was a sincere smile, the other a calculating one.
Francis was in a bad mood today and went into Donovan's arms.
Chloe felt incredibly sad when she saw this and called out, "Francis."
"Ms. Baker, don't worry." Donovan patted Francis's head. "I can comfort my child. I've been doing it since he was little. But Ms. Baker, you have quite the charm. Just after the school year started, you've already made such an outstanding young man like Jeffery fall for you."
Donovan fixed his eyes Chloe, his tone always slow and mocking.
Jeffery glanced at Chloe. "It's not like that. I liked her first," he said, trying to defend Chloe.
"Ms. Baker, have you ever been in a relationship?" Donovan asked again.
He looked like a parent scrutinizing her.
"Yes," Chloe answered with her head down.
Her face was bright red.
"You have? If you don't mind, tell us about it," Donovan continued, always with a slight smile on his lips.
