Chapter 616 Kidnapped
When Maya took Francis out to buy groceries, a person suddenly appeared and snatched Francis away. Just as Maya was about to scream for help, Jacob came from the opposite direction and quickly drove the assailant away. He picked up Francis and said to him, "Francis, don't be afraid. I'm here."
Seeing that it was Jacob, Maya breathed a sigh of relief. After all, Jacob was Chloe's brother, so she didn't think much of it.
"Maya, you go ahead and buy the groceries. I'll watch the child outside. Otherwise, you might forget about the child while shopping. I'll bring him back home to you later," Jacob said.
Maya, still in a state of panic, didn't think much about it either, and Jacob's suggestion made sense.
She entered the grocery market.
Barbara soon drove up in a car and told Jacob to quickly get in with the child.
After getting in the car, Francis felt something was off, but he was just a child.
"Francis, how about Barbara and I take you out to play?" Jacob said.
"Okay."
Barbara's car headed towards the amusement park, and Francis had a great time playing there.
Barbara even took a photo of Francis and Jacob playing together and sent it to Chloe.
Chloe had just received a call from Maya, saying that Jacob had taken the child somewhere unknown.
Just then, Barbara called Chloe.
"Barbara, what do you want?" Chloe asked, ready to confront Barbara.
Barbara laughed, "We're just taking Francis out to play. Jacob and I won't harm him. As long as you obediently tell me the password, I'll send Francis back immediately. Even if you call the police, we're all relatives of Francis. The police won't care."
"Barbara! Don't go too far!"
"Chloe, aren't you the one going too far? What are you doing with all that money? Jacob is your brother, and Amelia worked so hard to raise you, yet you don't give them a single penny?" Barbara said.
"Send Francis back to me first!" Chloe demanded.
Barbara had already hung up the phone.
As Barbara had said, even if Chloe called the police, they were all relatives of the child, and they were just taking him out to play. Maya knew Jacob was watching the child.
Chloe called Donovan.
Donovan was in a meeting.
"What's up?" Donovan asked.
"Donovan, Maya told me that Francis was kidnapped by a thug on the street, but Jacob saved him. Now Jacob has taken the child somewhere, and Barbara just told me that to get the child back, I have to tell her the password," Chloe said, very anxious.
"Damn it!" Donovan clenched his fist. "Wait, I'll call the police."
After telling Donovan about the situation, Chloe felt somewhat relieved.
She just hoped Barbara wouldn't harm Francis.
But since Barbara hadn't called, the police couldn't locate them.
Barbara took Francis to an old warehouse in the suburbs. Jacob had already prepared some food there and was squatting on the ground, eating bread.
Barbara put her phone on the table and went to bed to sleep.
Francis noticed that the photo on Barbara's phone was of Jeffery.
"Barbara, do you like Jeffery?" Francis asked Barbara.
