Donovan dispatched someone to follow Chloe, and he then received photographs showing Chloe embracing Derek immediately after deplaning. Thereafter, the three of them possibly headed together to the Adams mansion.
Before this, Chloe had only mentioned going to Emerald Isle alone and never said she was going to the Adams mansion with Derek. Moreover, news of an engagement broke out at this time.
"Donovan, you." Charles stared at Donovan.

Cynthia was at home watching Jake when she saw Donovan arrive. She was both happy and surprised.
"What brings you here?" The person Cynthia had secretly loved for so many years suddenly visiting her home made her extremely happy.
"Marry me," he said.
Cynthia's mind buzzed. She couldn't believe it and thought Donovan was drunk.

"What about me?" Cynthia wanted to know what role she would play in this marriage, but she knew that as long as she had the title of "Mrs. Blake," everything she did in the future would be justified.
"You can come back to Hillside Villa on weekends," Donovan seemed to be struggling with himself.
"Jake, call him Daddy," Cynthia said to Jake.
Just as Jake was about to open his mouth, Donovan suddenly stopped him. "Don't call me that. Not now, not ever!"
Cynthia felt frustrated, but then she thought, 'there's plenty of time in the future.'
