Chapter 675 Matchmaking
Chloe was about to post something pretty personal, and she didn't want anyone thinking she was flaunting her wealth and her house, so she kept it private.
After she posted on Facebook, Chloe started chatting with Jane.
They had patched things up, and their conversation was way deeper than before, even getting into some emotional stuff.
Chloe mentioned she was going to remarry Donovan on Monday.
"You guys should've done that ages ago. The kids are already grown, what are you waiting for?" Jane said.
Chloe nodded. That was one of the reasons she decided to "give up the fight"; the kids were grown.
"Yeah, totally," Chloe said.
They chatted for a long time, but Jane, being stubborn, wasn't about to change her opinion of Jake easily. She came over to smooth things out with Chloe and show Jeffery she wasn't heartless. Otherwise, her reputation would take a hit, especially since Jeffery already thought poorly of her.
They talked until it was past nine.
Jeffery saw Chloe's Facebook post. He had just finished washing up and was lying in bed when he saw it. He scoffed and shoved his phone under his pillow.
Knowing Chloe for so long, she rarely posted on Facebook. Her profile showed all her past posts, but even then, there weren't many, mostly shares. This time, she posted pictures of her home and Jane. The motive was clear. Jeffery figured the post was only visible to him, trying to change his view of Jane.
The more Jeffery thought about it, the angrier he got. He pulled out his phone and commented on Chloe's post: [So now you're playing matchmaker, huh?]
After sending the message, Jeffery put his phone back under his pillow and didn't say anything else.
After Jane left, Chloe went upstairs and saw Jeffery's comment. She felt a bit embarrassed.
Obviously, Donovan saw the comment too.
When Jane got home, she messaged Chloe, asking what Jeffery had commented. Jeffery had blocked Jane, so she couldn't see it.
Chloe made an excuse, saying: [He hasn't commented yet, but he definitely saw it.]
Jane was pretty happy.
"He's asking if you're playing matchmaker?" Donovan could sense the jealousy in Jeffery's tone. He asked Chloe.
Chloe felt a bit embarrassed, "I did have that intention, but he saw through it. It's so embarrassing."
Donovan just smiled. He didn't mind having a couple of rivals, as long as Chloe was with him now. "Let's go to sleep."
Just as Donovan was about to get close to Chloe, his phone rang a few times. He ignored it and kept going. It wasn't until two hours later, after they had made love and it was past one in the morning, that he checked his phone.
[Donovan, about the bidding, I'm leaning towards another company, but I haven't made a final decision yet. I'd like to hear your opinion.] Charles had messaged Donovan.
Donovan frowned slightly, "It's just over ten million dollars, why bother? Are you really not giving Charlotte this chance?"
Charles knew why Donovan was only replying now, but he didn't ask. He replied: [I don't like to play favorites in my work. I'm the vice president; you said I could decide on this matter.]
