Chapter 643 He No Longer Feels a Sense of Crisis
Donovan paused for a moment while hanging up his clothes. He looked up again at the drone still flying outside the window. Considering that Francis had just gone downstairs from this building, he knew that Francis must have seen something from the drone and told Chloe. That's why Chloe was asking so casually.
However, Donovan was quite pleased that Chloe asked.
"It was a woman," he replied.
Chloe's hand paused for a moment. "A woman?"
"She wanted to take me home after I had some drinks, and I didn't refuse. That's all." Donovan sat down next to Chloe.
Thinking back to the last time Donovan got drunk, Chloe had made a mistake because of it.
"Is that so? You didn't refuse at all?" Chloe said jealously.
"She wanted to take me, so I naturally didn't refuse." Donovan, who was only slightly drunk, acted as if he had drunk a lot. He sat on the bed and leaned on Chloe's shoulder.
"Would you not refuse if she wanted to sleep with you too?" Chloe turned her head and asked again.
This was what Chloe was upset about.
Donovan looked at Chloe, and after a moment of silence, he pressed her down on the bed.
Chloe was very annoyed and said, "Don't try to prove you didn't sleep with her by sleeping with me. I'm so fed up with you."
There was still some essence of the alcohol in his mouth.
"I only have this little secret, and you guessed it." Donovan kept teasing Chloe, taking advantage of his slight drunkenness to undress her.
Although Chloe resisted, it was only half-heartedly. Even though she was unwilling, Donovan was very willing.
After a round of passionate lovemaking, Donovan got up to get dressed and prepared to go downstairs. As he dressed, he said, "Is this the only way to curb your temper?"
Chloe was still lying on the bed, her head turned towards the window, watching the daylight gradually fade, her eyes half-closed.
"I'm not eating dinner, and let's consider postponing the time to remarry," Chloe said. "And don't even think about a second child!"
After speaking, Chloe picked up a birth control pill from the side and took one.
"Chloe!" The essence of the alcohol in Donovan's mouth immediately disappeared, and he scolded Chloe.
Chloe hated his attitude of not explaining anything, trying to brush things off. Donovan thought that saying a few nice words in front of her would be enough. The other woman was bold enough to come to their home, and she wasn't supposed to be alarmed?
Chloe turned her head away, ignoring him.
"Got me?" Donovan suddenly got back on the bed and pinched Chloe's chin. "It doesn't matter if we get married or not, as long as you're by my side!"
As Donovan walked to the door, a pillow flew at him from behind.
He ignored it and went downstairs.
In fact, between the two of them, this wasn't even considered a fight, just a little quarrel, the kind of small bickering that happens when both are around each other.
By the time Donovan finished eating downstairs, Chloe was still lying in bed. Her back ached, and she didn't want to get up; she just wanted to sleep.
Donovan held a book in his hand and nudged Chloe with his elbow.
"What?" Chloe said in a low voice, still somewhat unwilling.
"Come with me to Pearl Peak City tomorrow," Donovan said.
Pearl Peak City was where Chloe used to work, so she naturally had feelings for it. But she didn't know why they were going to Pearl Peak City, and Donovan still hadn't explained the matter of the "pretty driver." Anyway, Chloe knew that someone of his status and position would inevitably have women pursuing him.
Now that Chloe was back, he felt no sense of crisis at all.
