Chapter 501 Just Like Wanting Daddy
After shooting off that message, Chloe checked out where Fusion Feast was. Turned out, it was pretty close to the Pearl Peak Hotel. Derek had probably been swamped with meetings lately and hadn't had the chance to explore, so he didn't know the good spots in Pearl Peak City. That's why he picked Fusion Feast, a place near his hotel.
After catching the fireworks at Central Square, it was almost ten. The three of them happily piled back into Donovan's car.
"Did you guys have fun?" Donovan asked.
"Yeah, it was so lively. We don't have anything like this in Maple Valley. Pearl Peak City is way better. Mr. Blake, you're from here, so why'd you move to Maple Valley and miss out on such a beautiful night view?" Sofia asked.
"Me? I went to Maple Valley for work and just ended up staying," he said with a light laugh.
"You must be kidding. With your status, if you wanted to live in Maple Valley, the city government would be begging you to stay. Right, Chloe?" Sofia asked Chloe.
Chloe didn't expect Sofia to ask her, but she replied, "Yeah, that's right. Money talks."
Donovan frowned slightly, feeling like Chloe was mocking him.
Sofia shot Chloe a look, wondering if she knew how to talk properly. After dropping Sofia and Loren off at the school hotel, Sofia said, "Mr. Blake, you can go ahead. I need to have a word with Chloe."
Sofia didn't consider that Donovan might want to spend more time with Chloe after dropping her off. But her words were exactly what Chloe wanted to hear.
Then Donovan drove away.
"What's wrong with you? Mr. Blake came all this way just to hear you talk nonsense?" Sofia scolded Chloe. "You two already have a kid together; you should just live together. He's middle-aged; what else can he do? Chloe, think carefully. If you don't want him, Mr. Blake won't have trouble finding a girlfriend. There were plenty of people chasing him before, right? Do you want Francis to end up with a stepmother? If you do, keep being stubborn. Anyway, it's your life. I'm leaving with Loren tomorrow."
"You're leaving so soon?" Chloe said.
"Yeah, have you forgotten that I'm pregnant?" Sofia said. "What are you thinking about all day?"
Without Sofia mentioning it, Chloe had indeed forgotten. "I'll see you off tomorrow. What time?"
"After breakfast, around ten?"
"Okay."
The next day, after seeing Sofia off, Chloe went back to school to pack up. And at four in the afternoon, she left school and headed to Fusion Feast.
Derek was already waiting for her. When he saw her, he waved, and Chloe walked over. "I'm leaving tomorrow. Are you coming to see me off?"
"Tomorrow? All the teachers have a meeting tomorrow, so I probably can't," Chloe said.
"Alright," Derek said. "There will be plenty of time in the future."
The waiter brought caviar and sea urchins. Derek gestured to the waiter and said, "Lady's first."
Derek always put Chloe first, which made her a bit embarrassed over time.
"Did you miss me in Aurora Isle?" he asked.
Chloe thought for a moment and nodded.
"Like you miss your dad?" Derek laughed again.
"What are you talking about?" Chloe looked up at him.
Derek laughed heartily. "I don't mind if you think of me like your dad. As long as you miss me."
"Are you coming back after you leave this time?" Chloe asked.
"Very soon. I might collaborate with your school's psychology department and come to give a lecture. Pearl Peak City University has already sent me an honorary professor invitation. I couldn't make it this time, but maybe next time I'll come to give a talk," Derek said.
"Our school?" Chloe was quite surprised.
"Yes, are you happy?"
Chloe thought, 'Why does Donovan become an honorary professor, and now Derek wants to be one too?'
"Pretty happy." Chloe raised her face and smiled.
"Probably in a month. If I'm not busy, I'll come to see you then. What do you want?" Derek asked.
"Bring me a vinyl record of the Scarf band. They don't sell it in Aurora Isle," Chloe said.
Not only did they not sell it in Aurora Isle, but very few people even knew about it, let alone a vinyl record.
"That's easy. Anything else?" Derek asked.
"No, that's it."
