Chapter 630 Donovan Returned Home
"There are still such beautiful girls in the world," Jane sighed.
Earlier, Chloe was busy picking out some plain-colored underwear for Donovan and didn't notice the girl.
"Is she as pretty as me?" Chloe asked earnestly.
"That's weird. You never used to care about your looks. Why are you asking now?" Jane was curious.
"I'm just guessing, but anyone who can catch Donovan's eye can't be too bad. Plus, I recently found out both my parents were actors, so I guess I must look pretty good too," Chloe added.
"About the same as you."
"Then she must be very pretty!" Chloe said seriously.
Jane replied, "Chloe, have some modesty."
After picking out their items, they left.
The girl in the store earlier was Charlotte.
She left the New East Mall carrying a D.K. shopping bag. When she reached her car and used the remote to unlock it, she saw a man standing next to her car, blocking her way.
Charlotte felt a bit guilty. She had a feeling something was off while driving earlier, but seeing another car next to hers, she didn't dare believe it. She never thought she had scratched it.
"Excuse me, sir, could you please move?" Charlotte said politely.
The term "sir" made Charles feel awkward.
"Who are you calling 'sir'?"
Charlotte calmly looked around, "Is there anyone else here? Sir!"
Charles noticed the shopping bag in Charlotte's hand and recognized the underwear brand. He asked, "Buying that for your boyfriend?"
"Yes," Charlotte thought to herself, 'Why is he so nosy?'
Charles raised an eyebrow. "You scratched my car."
Charlotte immediately broke into a sweat, thinking, 'Scratching someone else's car is no small offense.'
However, she still put on a smile and said to Charles, "Sir, call the insurance company. Let's go get your car fixed."
She even patted her chest, looking very straightforward.
Charles got into his car, and the two of them went to the repair shop.
Even though it was just a paint touch-up, the cost was still quite high. Charlotte gritted her teeth and paid, feeling resentful towards this old man. She thought, 'He looks pretty wealthy.'
She had planned to act cute and gain some sympathy, but he didn't give her any face at all.
What a bore!
After the car was fixed, Charlotte drove away.
Charles returned to the office and went to Donovan's office, looking unhappy.
"Did you see her?" Donovan asked, "How does she look?"
"Not bad, according to my taste. But she scratched my car and called me 'sir' right off the bat," Charles said through gritted teeth.
Donovan couldn't help but laugh, "If she doesn't call you 'sir,' what should she call you? Is she very young?"
"She must be three or four years younger than Chloe. But she bought underwear for Jeffery, D.K. brand, and claimed he's her boyfriend. I'm not that interested anymore," Charles added.
"She's probably just lightly interested, likely hasn't had any real interaction. Why are you so bothered? What's eating at you?"
"I..." For the first time, Charles couldn't come up with a retort.
He didn't know what exactly he was bothered by or what he was angry about.
Seeing Charles's demeanor, Donovan knew exactly what was going on. His distracted look told Donovan that there was hope.
That evening, he went home.
