Initially, Betty just wanted to block Jeffery. Before Jeffery went to the gym for practice, he went to the cafeteria to grab a bite, so he wouldn't run out of energy during the game. Unexpectedly, Betty not only ran into Jeffery but also saw Chloe, which was perfect.

Jeffery found these words particularly pleasing. Although Chloe claimed she had a child, he knew she was lying and knew that she didn't have a boyfriend.
Chloe was puzzled. Logically, wasn't Betty here to harm her? She should have mentioned that Chloe had a husband and a child before.
Jeffery stood behind Chloe.

But you better hold on to Chloe. Otherwise, she might run away. Chloe, you go ahead. Barbara is filming. I'll go find her."
With that, Betty patted Chloe's hand and left.
"Just now, you..." Chloe broke free from Jeffery's embrace, unsure whether to thank him or slap him.
"Who is she to you?"
"Betty is my aunt. It's a long story," After saying that, Chloe walked away quickly.
It seemed she needed to explain her situation to Jeffery quickly, as his persistent pestering was becoming bothersome.

Chloe and Jeffery went to the gym one after the other.

He thought, 'Why did she come to Pearl Peak City University? Just to watch the basketball game?'

Jeffery glanced over from the basketball court and saw Chloe. He didn't expect her to actually come to watch his game.
Encouraged by Betty earlier, Jeffery thought, 'If I won the game, I would confess to Chloe.'
At that moment, he was training hard, shirtless, running around the court.
The basketball game was intense, but Chloe wasn't affected.
She was thinking, 'Did Barbara come to the school because of Pamela?'

Francis's gaze would occasionally linger on Chloe, who remained focused ahead, unlike the enthusiastic girl beside her. It was evident that Chloe had something weighing on her mind.
When Donovan's gaze returned to the court, he saw Jeffery glancing at the audience and whistling.
Jeffery did look quite charming on the court.
The heated basketball game officially ended at seven o'clock.
Pearl Peak City University won. The players were excitedly hugging each other.
At that moment, Jeffery knelt on one knee in Chloe's direction, with his hand on his chest, as if making a vow.
