Unexpectedly, when Chloe returned to Donovan's office, she saw an uninvited guest there.
It was Lori.
Crying and wailing, she said to Donovan, "Donovan, are you just going to let Paisley be bullied? That Barbara, what kind of status does she have? She's just an assistant, exposing Paisley, saying Paisley sent things to their house, it's clearly slander. Now, Barbara has gone to Aetheria to trouble Paisley again."

Chloe broke free from Donovan's hand and walked out. Donovan was afraid that if he held on too tight, something might happen to her, while Lori had no such concerns. She used all her strength and refused to let go, immobilizing Donovan.
"Let Susan take you home," Donovan said to Chloe.
Chloe closed the door to Donovan's office.
"Let go!" Donovan growled at Lori.
