Chapter 506 Donovan Had Never Been This Angry
Chloe swung the door open and saw Donovan standing there. She asked, a bit annoyed, "When are you planning to go home and see Francis?"
"Seriously? All you ever talk about is Francis. What about me?" Donovan snapped back, still thinking about Derek. Derek's words were always calm but carried a lot of weight.
Their bedroom antics was now something Derek was aware, which made Donovan super uncomfortable. Even though he was pissed, he had to suck it up. Chloe had been hurt last time, and he didn't really want to hurt her again.
Ignoring Donovan's bad attitude, Chloe went back to her desk. "Are you going home or not? If you go now, I'll go with you."
"No!" Donovan shouted, making sure Chloe heard him.
Chloe chuckled. "You were all buddy-buddy with someone else's kid, but now that Francis is sick, you don't care. Are you even his dad or what?"
Donovan knew she was talking about Cynthia and Jake. "Are you jealous?"
Chloe got even angrier. "Get out! Just get out!"
"Don't tell me what to do!" Donovan was fuming. He had never been this mad at Chloe before. Actually, he was more mad at Derek.
"Get out!" Chloe yelled, stomping her foot.
Willow Grove Estates was a three-story building, not very tall, so everyone could hear the noise coming from Chloe's room.
"Why are you yelling?" Donovan got even angrier. He stood up from the sofa and grabbed Chloe's wrists. "Afraid people won't know you're a hothead?"
Chloe glared at Donovan, ready to explode. Her wrists were trapped in his hands, and she couldn't move. Donovan couldn't hold back and leaned in to kiss Chloe. She tried to dodge, but the strength difference was obvious. She was no match.
When Donovan's tongue entered her mouth, she bit down hard. Donovan's eyes flew open, and he stared at Chloe as she stared back.
Just then, Donovan's phone rang. Reluctantly, he answered it.
"Mr. Blake," it was Timothy from Stellar Corp. "The on-site renderings are ready. When can you come take a look?"
"Right away," Donovan replied, sounding grim.
Chloe broke free from Donovan's grip and saw a message from Timothy in the group chat: [If any executives are free, come check out the renderings. I'll send photos, but seeing it in person is way better.]
Chloe was curious and had already decided to buy a house in the Rebecca Residential Community, so she wanted to check it out.
"Are you coming or not?" Donovan asked from the door.
Chloe didn't say anything, grabbed her bag, and followed him out.
On the way, neither of them spoke. Donovan seemed really agitated. At red lights, he kept honking the horn, which was so unlike him. He was usually calm and collected.
