Chapter 262 That's in Front of Outsiders
Chloe felt suddenly weak when she heard him speak.
She was pure, but in his eyes, she appeared like this?
"Since I'm disgusting and low, go find your Paisley; she's pure." Chloe's tears fell on the pillow.
She found herself thinking back to that kiss Paisley planted on Donovan's face at the hillside villa and Donovan's all-night disappearing act.
Chloe, the scumbag, made the decision to divorce, choosing to cut Donovan off for good. Yet now, here she was, suddenly realizing that she actually cared about Donovan.
She was truly despicable, utterly despicable.
Donovan kept nibbling on Chloe's neck, leaving bruises on her wrists.
"I'll go tomorrow," Donovan said.
"You better get out now! Go to her bed," Chloe shouted hoarsely.
Perhaps Chloe recognized her feelings, despising this kind of sentiment, shamelessly even forgetting about Amelia's death, and thus she spoke harshly to Donovan.
His tone was as cold as winter.
After getting into bed, Donovan leaned against the headboard and started making a call.
Chloe kept crying on the side, not paying attention to what he was saying.
"Chloe is leaving First accounting firm, and I'll cover all the breach of contract compensation."
"Where to? You don't need to worry about that. Be aware that you might kneel in front of me again in the future.”
Then Donovan hung up the phone.
Chloe heard that he was actually calling Brayden. She turned around.
"What gives you the right to meddle in my work?" Chloe asked.
Donovan looked at Chloe askew, his gaze mocking and strategic.
His previous irrationality had passed, and now he had become that high and untouchable Donovan again.
"If I want to interfere, then I will." Then, his hand stroked Chloe's face, his thumb gently caressing her fair and delicate skin, "Chloe, in this lifetime, don't think about escaping from my palm."
Chloe stared at him blankly, then said, "Pervert."
"You only found out today?" He asked Chloe indifferently.
It seemed like finally getting Chloe to leave the First Accounting Firm, he had won a game.
"When you first proposed to me, I thought you were calm and wise, wouldn't be like this..." Chloe was probably enraged too, unable to find suitable words, "I never thought you were such a beast!"
Donovan leaned close to Chloe's ear and whispered softly and seductively, "That's in front of outsiders."
Chloe was exhausted and wanted to sleep.
Although she didn't know that Donovan had called Brayden with her phone, and what Brayden would think, she was really tired.
She fell asleep.
The next day, when Chloe woke up, it was already half past nine, and Donovan was not by her side.
Chloe was sore all over. She lay in bed for a while before getting up.
Donovan sat on the sofa reading a book, wearing glasses this time for some reason, truly hypocritical.
"You didn't go look for Paisley?" Chloe taunted.
He glanced at his watch, "Three in the afternoon."
The breakfast he had made in the morning was still in the pot. He left some for Chloe and even boiled an egg for her, treating her like a child.
Chloe sat at the table and started eating.
At that moment, Donovan's phone rang, and he answered.
"Yes, she's on maternity leave. She'll start in January after giving birth." After speaking, he hung up.
Chloe's heart sank, thinking, 'He's talking about me.' Last night, he told Brayden that Chloe was leaving the First Accounting Firm.
"Who are you talking to on the phone?" Chloe asked warily.
"The HR director of New East Group," Donovan replied.
"About whose business?"
"Yours."
