Chapter 250 Stroking Her Belly
"Are you not going to work today?" Chloe continued to ask Donovan.
"No. I already told Charles yesterday," he replied.
Chloe thought that Donovan didn't intentionally stay at home, especially since she hadn't returned home when Charles came yesterday.
Donovan couldn't possibly have the ability to foresee.
"Well, alright then," Chloe could only respond helplessly.
"You don't want me to be your driver?" Donovan asked again.
"I didn't mean it, but having you as my driver seems like a bit of an overkill," Chloe answered seriously.
"It's convenient for me," Donovan said.
Chloe responded with another "okay".
Chloe's belly was quite large, so she had to sit in the back seat. She didn't want to wear a seatbelt, but Donovan insisted on buckling her up.
When Donovan was fastening Chloe's seatbelt, he accidentally touched her belly, which felt hard, like an inflated balloon.

When they arrived at Elevate Structures Group, Donovan and Chloe went to the meeting room together.
Initially, Sharon felt disdainful that Chloe was coming today, but when he saw Donovan behind her, he suddenly understood why Gary had called Chloe.
Perhaps Donovan had called Gary last night and informed him about the situation.
Chloe was leveraging Donovan's influence. What Gary was interested in was not Chloe but Donovan behind her.
After all, Elevate Structures Group had always dreamed of collaborating with New East Group.
Donovan was so well-known in Maple Valley that everyone knew him.
"You two talk. I'm just a driver," Donovan said as he sat at the back of the conference table, casually picking up a newspaper to read.
He was dressed very casually today and didn't seem like he was here for business discussions.
At this moment, Gary and Sharon had to pretend not to know Donovan.
"Ms. Baker!" Gary politely greeted Chloe.
Although they knew Donovan, they were unaware that Donovan's ex-wife was Chloe.

Chloe sat down beside them.
Sharon had already taken out the documents and was explaining financial matters to Chloe in detail.

Initially, Gary was worried about handing the project to a woman with little experience. But last night, Charles, the financial director of New East Group, personally called him.
Seeing Chloe's professionalism, Gary felt reassured.
"Mr. Collins, Mr. Lewis, please don't worry. I will have the financial statements ready for you before the year-end," Chloe assured.
There were too many documents on the table, along with various receipts, making it all seem scattered.
Chloe couldn't carry them all.
Sharon was about to take them down for Chloe when Donovan said, "I'll do it." And then he proceeded to carry the stack of documents downstairs.
Chloe followed closely behind him. When they reached the elevator, Chloe turned around, smiled, and bid farewell to the two men.
"Do you know who you offended yesterday?!" Gary scolded Sharon angrily.
Sharon immediately lowered his head, his face darkening.
