"I took on the hospital audit work before Christmas last year and came today to get some materials. Why are you at the hospital?" Brayden asked her.
Chloe knew that as long as she talked to Brayden, Barbara would definitely let everyone know about it. She pulled Brayden aside and explained the situation. Seeing four women sitting there without any men, Brayden knew that Chloe might not be able to handle it.
"My work here isn't finished yet. I won't go back to Maple Valley. The brain tumor surgery will take a long time, about twelve to twenty hours. I'll book a room for you, you and your mom can go rest there. Also, is the money enough?" Brayden cared a lot about Chloe, and his words showed his concern.

"My grandma is sick and undergoing surgery. I'm in Sunshine Bay City now. I took leave with Victoria before. I won't be going home tonight. I'll see how things go tomorrow, okay?" Chloe explained in detail.
"Do you need me to come over?"
"No need. We'll see how the surgery goes first."
"Do you have enough money?" he asked again.
"You gave me fifty thousand during your vacation. It's enough."
Donovan hung up the phone.
At ten o'clock, Betty and Barbara went home. Originally, Chloe was going to have Layla take her mom to the hotel while she stayed here. But Amelia said, "Chloe, there's something your mom wants to tell you. Come with me."
While not large, the hotel Brayden booked for Chloe was very comfortable. After entering, Amelia held Chloe's hand. "Chloe, tell mom the truth. Why did he give you a check?"
