Chapter 603 Don't Believe Me? Ask Chloe
Chloe felt embarrassed and thought to herself, "Where did I just touch?"
"The time is almost here, do you want it?" Donovan asked.
Chloe hurriedly turned her head. "No, you want it."
"I do want it, I've wanted it for a long time."
"I had a major hemorrhage, I need to rest for two months," Chloe said.
Donovan probably thought that making love was too exhausting, and just thinking about it made him lose interest, so he didn't say anything.
Chloe let out a long sigh of relief and thought, "I finally dodged a bullet."
Just as she was secretly rejoicing, Donovan's phone rang. It was Timothy.
"Mr. Blake, you need to come to Pearl Peak City right away." Timothy's voice was trembling.
"What happened?"
"Someone jumped off a building at Rebecca Residential Community. The building is only two stories high, so normally it wouldn't be fatal, but the woman fell onto a sharp object and was impaled. This is exactly what I feared. What should I do? This is my entire investment." Timothy's voice was on the verge of tears. Ever since Cynthia's incident, she had been afraid of something like this happening, and now her nightmare had come true.
Donovan frowned deeply, "Seal off the site and keep the news contained! I'm on my way."
"Okay." Timothy felt reassured by Donovan's words.
He believed Donovan would never abandon him like Donovan's father did when a murder happened years ago.
"What happened?" Chloe saw Donovan's furrowed brow.
"I need to go to Pearl Peak City. You stay home and watch the kids!" Donovan said, grabbing his car keys.
After getting in the car, he started the engine and called Charles, "I'm heading to Pearl Peak City now. You come too."
"Pearl Peak City? Why? What happened?"
"Something happened! Hurry up."
"Got it." Charles's tone became serious.
Donovan and Charles arrived at the construction site of Rebecca Residential Community one after the other.
The police were already there, and the scene had been cleared. Timothy had already contained the news.
Donovan entered with a serious expression.
Several people were dragging someone over and brought him in front of Donovan.
Donovan looked at the person: Jacob.
"Mr. Blake, this is the man who committed the murder here," said one of the investors from Stellar Corp. "He was standing behind the victim when she died."
Donovan slapped Jacob across the face, clearly furious.
Jacob staggered back several steps, blood appearing at the corner of his mouth.
"Donovan, I'm Chloe's brother. I've been framed, and you didn't even investigate," Jacob retorted in a disheveled state, not daring to do anything after being slapped.
"Donovan, are you out of your mind? I didn't kill Angela. I never even talked to her. I tried to approach her several times, but she ignored me. How could I have arranged to meet her?" Jacob explained in his defense.
Donovan stood to the side, ignoring Jacob's words, letting him talk all he wanted.
Seeing Donovan's indifference, Jacob said, "Ask Chloe if you don't believe me."
Sure enough, Donovan turned his head. "Does Chloe know about this?"
"Last time at Pearl Peak University, I ran into Chloe. She saw with her own eyes that Angela ignored me and walked away. Oh, and Chloe took a blood pack from my hand," Jacob finally remembered some evidence in his favor, and said.
Sure enough, as soon as Chloe was mentioned, Donovan was willing to listen to Jacob.
