Chapter 453 Then What Are You Trying to Seduce For
"Mrs. Blake, why don't you clear up the misunderstanding with Mr. Blake? You both love each other deeply. Now that Mr. Blake's parents have gone back to Dreamonia, no one will bother you anymore," Maya persuaded Chloe, but she was also speaking for Jeffery to hear.
Chloe just flashed a bitter smile. "That's all in the past."
"By the way, Chloe, where are you going for Whimsy Day?" Maya asked Chloe.
Jeffery's hand tightened; he was planning to invite Chloe to go hiking on Whimsy Day.
"I haven't decided yet," Chloe replied.
"How about going back to Maple Valley?" Maya held Chloe's hand. "You're from Maple Valley. Sofia got married, and you didn't even know."
Chloe thought for a moment. "Okay."
Maya smiled. Actually, Maya was exhausted tonight. She had to help Jeffery out of a tight spot, reconcile Chloe and Donovan, and make sure Jeffery didn't misunderstand, as Jeffery was the most important person to her.
They spent two hours at dinner, but the dishes on the table remained untouched.
By nine o'clock, the conversation was over.
Chloe nudged Jeffery. "Let's go back to school."
Instead of replying, Jeffery stood up and ran off.
Maya called out "Jeffery" a few times from behind, but he didn't seem to hear her.
"Maya, he'll be fine," Chloe said to Maya. "You should go back."
Left with no other choice, Maya reluctantly returned to Kenneth's house.
When she arrived, Donovan was sitting on the couch reading a book, and Charles was in the bedroom putting Francis to sleep.
"Did you see the one Jeffery likes?" Donovan asked Maya slowly.
"He doesn't have anyone he likes. But I did see Chloe. Chloe is Jeffery's audit teacher, and Chloe will have to guide him well in the future. No wonder you stayed in Pearl Peak City and didn't go back. It turns out Chloe is here." Maya forced a smile.
"That's not it. I really am here for work," Donovan said simply.
"Mr. Blake, you should just get back together with Chloe. There's no obstacle now, right? Chloe has also earned her PhD, and she doesn't have anything to worry about anymore. She won't be thinking about going abroad all the time like before. She even agreed to go back to Maple Valley for Whimsy Day," Maya said.
Donovan looked up. "Why is she going back to Maple Valley?"
"I told her Sofia got married. She might feel guilty that she missed out on Sofia's big moment and wants to go back and see her."
"I see," Donovan said curtly.
Just like that, without Donovan lifting a finger, Chloe and Jeffery's relationship ended.
Charles came out of the bedroom.
"Jeffery likes Chloe?" he asked, slightly surprised but very certain.
Charles was very smart. He had overheard the conversation between Maya and Donovan in the living room, and Donovan had been holding back some anger recently. He guessed that Jeffery had fallen for Chloe.
After Maya went to rest in her room, Charles went to Donovan's room.
"Are you still angry? Chloe handled this so well. What are you angry about?" Charles asked him. "Shouldn't you be proud of your ex-wife being liked by Jeffery? I've noticed you've been holding back some anger these past few days. Come on, don't be mad."
"Shouldn't I be mad?" Donovan questioned.
"You should be mad. But now that Chloe has resolved this, what are you still mad about? Didn't she request to talk to Maya herself? If Jeffery is a decent person, he won't pursue Chloe anymore. She's going back to Maple Valley for Whimsy Day. Are you going back?" Charles asked.
Donovan lay on the bed, squinting his eyes. "I'm not going back."
'Since she's going back to Maple Valley, she may know about the Facebook post I published. After all, I posted on Facebook to attract her attention. If she never finds out, then what's the point?' he thought silently.
