Chapter 707 Shouldn't I Be Grateful to You?
The next day, Matthew knocked on the door of Ann's company to talk to Jeffery.
That day, Matthew was in the car, and Jeffery didn't get a clear look at him. Now seeing Matthew, he was naturally surprised, thinking he was one of Ann's clients.
"May I ask who you are?" Jeffery inquired.
"I'm Barbara's boyfriend. You should understand why I'm here," Matthew replied. Compared to Jeffery, Matthew's tone was naturally that of a superior. Big shot Matthew never took Jeffery seriously.
Sure enough, Jeffery was stunned for a moment, not knowing how Barbara got such an older boyfriend. However, since he didn't care much about Barbara, he naturally didn't care about her boyfriend either. "I will keep my distance from Barbara. If she comes to me, I'll call you. How about that?"

When Matthew got home, Barbara was lying on the bed, throwing a tantrum. But she was the type who would never commit suicide. She hadn't lived enough yet. She overheard Matthew talking to Donovan and his wife about Jeffery.
"I went to Celestial Peak Building to find Jeffery and told him not to get entangled with Barbara. Jeffery understood the situation and said if Barbara came to him, he wouldn't treat her kindly," Matthew said with a smile. "He avoids Barbara like the plague."
Chloe didn't like the sound of that either. Why did Matthew's tone carry such disdain? Wasn't Barbara his girlfriend? Matthew seemed so sleazy.
Barbara clenched her fists, feeling that Matthew's words made her sound like a prostitute he was just playing with.
"Alright, now that Barbara is yours, you can rest easy," Donovan said.
"Thanks to Chloe," Matthew replied.
Barbara clenched her fists even tighter. She knew that her current predicament was entirely Chloe's fault. She already hated Chloe.
"How did I help?" Chloe was quite surprised. After all, she had never commented on Matthew and Barbara being together.
Matthew just smiled mysteriously. "You've always kept Jeffery from being with Barbara. Shouldn't I be grateful to you?"
Barbara bit her lip even harder, thinking, 'Chloe!'
