"Chapter 93 - You must be honest with Mr. Blake"
Chloe's complex emotions of guilt and resentment towards Donovan continued into the next day.
At noon, Chloe made plans to have Japanese food with Sofia but unexpectedly ran into Donovan and a group of executives coming back from outside.
They seemed to have gone for some inspection in the morning. Feeling awkward from their encounter and with her emotions towards Donovan being so unusual, Chloe lowered her gaze and intentionally hid behind Sofia.
Donovan walked past her and said, 'Why are you avoiding me? Also, you're not allowed to eat Japanese food.'
Chloe and Sofia froze in their steps. Donovan's words stopped them in their tracks. If not Japanese food, then they decided to eat hot pot instead.
In the hot pot restaurant, Chloe spoke carefully, using a low voice and addressing Donovan as 'Mr. Blake.' 'I don't even know how he found out about those things. It's put me in a difficult position,' Chloe said."
Sofia felt guilty, after all, she had also betrayed Chloe, so she had to come up with an excuse. "So, what else do you have to confess? Confess quickly, leniency will be given to the confessors, resistance will be strictly punished."
Thinking about it, Chloe suddenly remembered something. "That day he gave me a book, and he told me that I can only put this book in my bag, no other books. Do you think he knows that Brayden wrote the book?"

Then, Chloe mentioned what happened on Paisley's WhatsApp yesterday.

But Chloe felt it wasn't right; Paisley was his unforgettable ex-lover, and they would eventually end up together. As for her and Donovan, they were only in a marriage of convenience and would soon separate.

On the way back to the company, Sofia reminded Chloe, "You must be honest with Mr. Blake."

"Eating Japanese food again?" Donovan asked with a frowned face, noticing Chloe's red lips.
Chloe forced a smile, "No, no, this time it's hotpot."
"Chloe, do you find it interesting to play these mind games?" Clearly, Donovan was upset about Chloe's deceit.
"Don't be angry, don't be angry," Chloe's tone changed as she realized today was the day to apologize to Donovan. "I didn't mean it, I put very little chili, I came here to give you this."
After speaking, Chloe placed the notebook and book on Donovan's desk.
Donovan already knew, so he wasn't surprised. "Is there anything else?"
"No, there's nothing else. There's really nothing between me and him," Chloe hastily waved her hands.
"Take it back!" Donovan pushed everything back to Chloe. He only cared about Chloe's intentions, he had no interest in Brayden's things.
"Is this considered confessing?" Chloe cautiously asked.
"Fine," Donovan said, "And this is for you."
"What?" Chloe saw Donovan push three tickets towards her.
Picking them up, she saw they were for the promotion ceremony of "Dear Doctor." No need to ask, they were definitely given to Donovan by Paisley.
"Where are your tickets?" Chloe asked Donovan.
"I'm not going. Not interested in this," he replied.
So...you mean Paisley gave Donovan three tickets?
She's really interesting, giving three tickets!
Chloe felt depressed when she thought about Paisley.
Chloe turned around and left, then went back to the office to complain about Paisley to Sofia.
"See? You're kind to her, but she doesn't appreciate it at all. Giving you three tickets, is she trying to imply there's a third party between you?" Sofia asked. "Just go with the plan I told you at lunch."
After thinking it over, Chloe agreed.
