Chapter 394 Why Do You Cry Whenever Something Happens?
Donovan found out what happened through a video call with Maya.
At 9 AM, Helen took Francis out for some sun. While she was chatting with a neighbor, Francis disappeared.
Donovan stayed calm, unlike Chloe. He called the Verdania office to book two tickets to Maple Valley and then called Pamela.
"You took Francis. What do you want? Aren't you afraid of jail?" he demanded.
"Mr. Blake, you got it wrong. It wasn't me. It was Francis's biological grandmother, Kathy. I got him back for you. Shouldn't you be thanking me? While you were cozy with Chloe in Verdania, I was looking out for Francis!" Pamela replied.
Chloe thought, 'I knew it. Who is this grandmother Pamela mentioned?'
"I'm coming back now. If you harm Francis, you'll regret it!" Donovan warned.
"I'll be waiting, Mr. Blake," Pamela said.
Donovan got dressed and drove to the airport, with Chloe following. She was furious with Donovan, blaming him for what happened to Francis. If anything happened to Francis, she'd never forgive him.
On the plane, Chloe cried and blamed Donovan.
"Stop crying. Why do you always cry when something happens?" Donovan snapped.
Chloe stopped crying and slept for a bit, still angry and ignoring Donovan.
When they got home, they found Pamela on the sofa with Francis asleep in her arms. Maya was nearby.
Pamela said, "You both came back? Kathy, Francis's grandmother, took him for two hours. I have a grudge against her, so I got him back. Here, take Francis."
Donovan signaled Maya to take Francis from Pamela.
"Who did you say? Francis's grandmother?" Chloe asked.
This was Chloe's first time seeing Pamela up close. She was beautiful but evil, much more ruthless than Paisley. Pamela was cunning and knew how to exploit Chloe's weaknesses.
"Yes, didn't Mr. Blake tell you? Your mother, Kathy, was one of my assistants. She seduced Fred and had you. She sent you away with a gemstone ring she stole from me. Look, isn't this it?" Pamela handed Chloe a ring.
Chloe took the ring. It was identical to hers, which had sunk to the bottom of the lake in Maple Valley Park.
"Mr. Blake, you should thank me. Kathy stole Francis. I don't support her actions. I know the status of the New East Group and your position, so I listen to you," Pamela said with a smile.
Chloe studied Pamela and then said, "You're not Pamela!"
