Chapter 213 Really Cruel

Chloe had a hectic day and it was nearly five o'clock when she finally remembered to check on the house.

She asked Amelia to send her the location and upon seeing it, Chloe's expression turned slightly sour - Blue Ocean Estate Group community.

It struck a chord with Chloe as she recalled that this was the same community Gordon had lived in years ago.

This community used to be well-known and featured in newspapers and media, but after the tragic incident, residents who had purchased homes began demanding refunds. As a result, the community was nearly deserted, with only a few remaining. Karen's old house was unexpectedly still standing, and Chloe couldn't shake an ominous feeling that came over her.

She couldn't quite pinpoint what was off. She had considered confiding in Donovan, but Amelia's words echoed in her mind, dissuading her from doing so.

Contemplating sending Donovan a message about her plans to visit a house with Amelia in the afternoon and possibly staying over, she began composing the text.

However, in the midst of editing the message, Donovan called.

"Gordon is missing. You go back first this afternoon," Donovan said to Chloe.

His voice was unusually serious.

"Don't worry. Gordon is usually fine. There won't be any problems," Chloe comforted Donovan.

"You take a taxi back by yourself, and I'll leave first."

"Okay," Chloe was very considerate.

After finishing packing, Chloe hailed a taxi and headed to the Blue Ocean Estate Group community as Karen had instructed.

Upon arriving, she found the house Karen mentioned, which had never been inhabited. Surprisingly, the door was unlocked.

Ignorant of the past murder case associated with the property, Chloe felt a chilling and unsettling atmosphere upon entering.

Despite the house's size, she had a strong sense of foreboding and felt compelled to caution Jacob and Karen against residing there.

Just as she was about to leave, she suddenly saw Gordon appear here.

"Gordon, how did you come here?" Amelia said.

At that moment, Amelia's heart started pounding violently.

She felt really bad.

" Sarah, Sarah, you destroyed me in the past, causing me so much pain. You should just disappear. You were manipulated by Ronald, spreading lies about the community and then committing a heinous act by killing your unfaithful husband, dismembering him, and scattering his remains. What were you thinking?" Gordon's gaze was intense as he locked eyes with Amelia.

He walked towards Amelia step by step, forcing her towards the window.

Amelia, hearing about Sarah's true nature, couldn't help but tremble all over.

"Gordon, please listen to me. I'm not Sarah. My name is Amelia, and I'm Chloe's mother." Amelia noticed the intensity in the person across from her, but his gaze appeared somewhat distant, which made her feel uneasy.

"You are not Sarah!" Gordon suddenly hesitated.

But this hesitation quickly turned into certainty.

"If you're not Sarah, why are you in this house? If you're not Sarah, why does Karen refer to you as mom?" Gordon's eyes flashed with anger and menace, "Today, I will show you what it means to suffer more than death."

Amelia had a sudden realization that Karen was Sarah's daughter, a fact that had never been mentioned before. Jacob must be aware of this!

"But I'm really not her. I truly am not." Amelia said helplessly.

"You are not a widow?" Gordon stared at Amelia.

"I am. My husband has been dead for seven years," Amelia replied.

"How dare you say you are not her!" Gordon had become very fierce.

All he could see in his mind at that moment were the gruesome, brutal scenes from the past that he couldn't bring himself to confront.

The memories tormented him, causing him to feel overwhelmed. For years, he had been haunted by nightmares, waking up in a cold sweat each night.

"Sarah is truly heartless," he muttered to himself.
