Chapter 299 She Would Bite Him to Death
Chloe finished her meal and went to the bedroom to change clothes.
The door was ajar.
When Donovan walked in, she was in the process of putting on her underwear.
Not shying away from Donovan's gaze, Chloe had already decided to tell him that the child was his, so there was no need to hide anything.
In her mind, she, along with the two children, belonged to him.
"Want to come with me?" Donovan asked her.
"Yes. Isn't it to save you gas money? I work in the audit department. How much salary will you give me per month?" Chloe asked him.
"How much do you want?"
Chloe paused for a moment. "I've been putting in a lot of effort; you can't cheat me. I used to earn ten grand a month. Now, you should at least pay me twenty grand, don't you think? I can keep working for another month and a half, so how about thirty grand?”
"Alright." Donovan laughed again, probably at her small ambitions.
As Chloe struggled to put on her pants, Donovan came over to assist her and she instinctively grabbed onto his shoulder.
Helping Chloe with her clothes had become a regular occurrence for Donovan. After getting Chloe into the car, Donovan headed to the driver's seat.
"I have a lunch meeting today, so I didn't ask Maya to prepare my meal. I apologize for wasting your kind gesture," Donovan explained.
"No need ." Chloe turned her head towards the window and asked, "Who are you meeting?"
"Matthew. He's treating me to lunch. The time you couldn't sleep was because he was dealing with his ex-wife."
Today, Donovan's lips were constantly curved in a subtle smile. He even specifically mentioned "the time you couldn't sleep."
"How did he deal with his ex-wife?" Chloe's face showed some embarrassment as Donovan had pointed out so clearly that she couldn't sleep that night.
She was so ungrateful, thinking about him so much that she couldn't sleep, even though she had just returned. She had already moved past Amelia's hatred.
"He stripped her naked and humiliated her in front of everyone in Maple Valley."
Chloe frowned slightly. "Stripped her naked? Did you see?"
"I did, not as beautiful as you."
Chloe blushed and instinctively said, "Get lost!"
"How could Matthew be so vile? Did you help him?" Chloe asked.
"Isn't it vile for a woman to cheat?"
"If she committed a crime, let the law judge her, not Matthew."
"Even judges find it hard to rule on domestic matters. If you ever do the same, I'll treat you the same way."
"You dare!" Chloe shivered at the thought of standing naked in front of a group of men.
"Dare not? Then you try it."
"We're already divorced!" Chloe said.
"You reminded me. If you want to remarry, just say it directly. Why beat around the bush?"
"I..." Chloe was rendered speechless by Donovan's retort.
She frowned, thinking, 'He must have known about the children long ago. Otherwise, given that her child was Brayden's, she would have been dead a hundred times over by now.'
He couldn't have tolerated Chloe until today.
Chloe closed her eyes to rest and said no more.
When they got to the company, Donovan took her straight to the top floor. Instead of going back to his office, he went outside to meet Matthew.
Matthew's car was already waiting at the door for Donovan, so he didn't drive but got into Matthew's car right away.
"I saw you helping Mrs. Blake upstairs just now. You guys are getting along well," Matthew said as he started the car. "But Mr. Blake, you should be cautious. What if it’s someone else's child?"
"It won’t happen."
"Even if it doesn't, wouldn't it bother you if she slept with another man?" Matthew continued.
"She didn't," Donovan said confidently.
"Let's hope not. Melissa is slut. She is shameless. Mrs. Blake is delicate and pure."
Donovan just smiled. Pure? He could picture that if he ever treated her that way, she would bite him to death!
"Where to?" Donovan asked.
"I've reserved a table at the Velvet Spoon Bistro. It's a high-end restaurant."
