Chapter 570 I'm Married
Donovan's trip to Pearl Peak City had been in vain. Returning to Maple Valley, he found the office already closed for the day. With his hands in his pockets, he strolled into the company.
Charles was also heading towards the exit with the crowd.
" Where did you go?" Charles asked Donovan.
Donovan answered, "Got married."
Donovan's words made everyone in the company turn their heads.
They were all murmuring, "Mr. Blake got married?"
"Is it a remarriage? Who else but Chloe?"
"Isn't Chloe engaged to someone else?"
"Where?"
Everyone started discussing enthusiastically.
However, Charles sensed that Chloe was not on Aurora Isle, and he doubted that Donovan would marry Chloe, as Donovan was still quite angry.
"To whom?" Charles asked again.
Donovan replied, "Cynthia."
Charles frowned tightly, "Who? A stranger?"
Donovan rolled his eyes at Charles and went upstairs.
The crowd leaving work was all discussing who Donovan's new wife could be.
"Cynthia, I never heard of her."
"When did she come to the company?"
After going upstairs, Donovan called his assistant. "Get me a fake document."
The assistant asked, "Okay, what kind?"
Donovan said, "A marriage certificate!"
Assistant replied, " Okay."
Donovan focused his thoughts. He figured that if he didn't seek out Cynthia, Cynthia would come to Maple Valley on her own to cooperate with him because she knew about the significant conflict between Donovan and Chloe and saw an opportunity.
Since Chloe treated Donovan this way, she couldn't blame him for making her suffer!
At this time, far away in Emerald Isle, Chloe was still overwhelmed by the situation with Pamela.
Pamela wasn't cooperating with police and might have mental issues. At night, when Chloe and Pamela slept in the same bed, Pamela tightly curled up, feeling very insecure.
Chloe thought about delaying her return home, believing Donovan wouldn't mind a few more days.
But as Chloe lay in bed, she realized her phone had no signal.
She turned it off and on again, but there was still no signal. Chloe wondered if her phone was broken.
Chloe went downstairs to borrow Derek's phone to call Donovan.
Chloe always thought Donovan didn't know Derek. But Derek had already given his business card to Donovan, with his phone number clearly on it. However, Derek hadn't told Chloe about this.
Donovan looked at the call from the Emerald Isle number and sneered.
Just when he was thinking of forgiving Chloe, here came provocation!
If this continued, Donovan might really marry someone else. Chloe always made Donovan jealous! Shouldn't Donovan make her jealous too?
Donovan answered the call, remaining silent.
He even thought,' Not getting the marriage certificate today is too lenient on Chloe!'
"Donovan, I'm having some trouble here. Can I come home in a few days?" Chloe said softly.
"Whose phone number is this?" he asked.
"A friend's," Chloe said. "I've been through a lot here. I rescued my mom, Neil took my grandpa to the hospital, and because my mom is very scared and isn't cooperating with the police, so I thought..."
Donovans aid, "I got married."
Chloe thought Donovan was talking about their remarriage and said, "Isn't the remarriage something we discuss when I get back?"
He said, "I got married, to someone else."
Chloe was at a loss for words for a moment, her mind went blank. She thought Donovan was joking.
She asked, "Are you saying this to make me come back sooner? I will."
"I married Cynthia!" Donovan reiterated.
