Chapter 652 Staying Out Overnight
"You said Jeffery's a smart kid, good at studying. How could he do something like this?" Oscar shook his head, "It's like he's cursed. You never know with fate."
"Yeah," Donovan said, "You can't fight fate."
Charlotte was getting more anxious. What the heck happened? Just spit it out already.
If Oscar didn't say anything, Charlotte was ready to ask Donovan.
"How could he do something like stealing a paper!" Oscar repeated.
Stealing a paper? Charlotte was stunned.
Charlotte had a strict academic attitude. She already despised academic fraud, and "stealing" was just plain awful. Didn't Jeffery know that?
In a flash, Charlotte's good impression of Jeffery took a nosedive.
As Donovan had said, Charlotte's liking for Jeffery was only skin-deep. She admired him from afar, thinking he was pretty good, but up close, he turned out to be like this.
Her fondness for Jeffery vanished instantly, leaving her disappointed.
Donovan and Oscar then talked about Cynthia. Oscar told Donovan that Janet's kid, Jake, should be raised by Donovan.
"Alright, I got it."
After eating, they headed to Rebecca Residential Community.
Charlotte's drone finally came in handy.
But ever since the meal, Charlotte seemed lost in thought, looking pretty out of it, though the videos she shot were still beautiful.
Donovan and Charles exchanged a glance, understanding each other without words.
"Donovan, do you think we're being a bit sneaky?" Charles asked.
"What did I say? Just sneaky?"
"For the sake of our Rebecca Residential Community, you'd do anything."
"I'm just telling the truth," Donovan looked at Charles, "You only say I'm doing it for Rebecca Residential Community, why don't you mention that I'm going to great lengths for you?"
"That's just a side thing," Charles raised a hand to stop Donovan's words.
"If you're so ungrateful, then I'm leaving." With that, Donovan made a move to leave.
But Charles grabbed him, "Alright, you have ulterior motives. Where are you going? Want to go see Cynthia?"
"I can't be bothered to see her. She's locked up, so I can have some peace for a while. Looks like I'll have to raise Jake myself, what a headache." Donovan pressed his temples.
"Does Chloe agree? Janet was Chloe's rival back then."
"Didn't I say, I'll check when I get home."
"Alright, we probably won't go back today. How about staying at the old house?"
"Yeah, we won't make it back. You probably don't want to go back either. Let her come along." Donovan raised his chin, pointing at Charlotte who was operating the controller, "You're pretty happy, aren't you? She just cooled off on Jeffery, so take this chance to make a move."
"Yeah, I'm pretty happy," Charles said, "Donovan, your plan is really good."
The two stopped talking, and in the evening, the three of them went to Donovan's old house.
There were plenty of rooms in the house, and each of them picked one.
Donovan had to report to his family if he was sleeping out.
He dialed a video call to Chloe.
"I'm not coming home to sleep tonight."
"Where are you sleeping?" Chloe was naturally unhappy. She used to follow Donovan everywhere, but now she didn't, and Donovan didn't insist. Plus, staying out overnight had become a common thing.
"At the old house, with Charles and Charlotte."
