Chapter 565 Following Chloe
Chloe saw that Donovan was holding back his anger this time and thought, 'Has his temper improved?'
Relationships were mutual; since Donovan had a good temper, Chloe shouldn't be too tough on him.
Chloe snuggled into Donovan's bed and whispered in his ear, "Honey, I'll be back in a week at most. You know where I'm going, okay? If it's really not okay, you can come with me."
Chloe's hand was still exploring Donovan's chest, " Is that okay?"
Donovan couldn't hold back his suppressed anger, but with Chloe's actions, his heart softened.
Donovan turned over and pinned Chloe beneath him, "You must be back in a week! And don't bring your mom back!"
"You agree, honey?" Chloe's eyes sparkled, and she looked at Donovan with love.
"Yes." Donovan replied.
In her life, Chloe only acted like a child in front of two people: Amelia and Donovan.
Strangely, Chloe occasionally showed this trait in front of Derek too, where she could completely open up and confide in him.
Chloe thought it was because Derek was a psychologist, and sharing her thoughts with him naturally brought them closer.
Chloe had just transferred to Hudson University, and the school hadn't had time to assign her a graduate student. She was still applying for a new project, having already completed the one at Pearl Peak University.
Chloe planned to leave on Friday and return the following Friday, taking a week off.
The two of them hadn't remarried yet.
Chloe was quite worried about the child, urging Donovan to take good care of Francis and make sure he was obedient and well-behaved.
"Mom, you must come back soon." Francis said to Chloe.
"Okay, I will." Chloe replied, gently patting Francis's head.
Donovan took her to the airport.
Although Donovan didn't go with Chloe, he had someone keep an eye on her.
"Mr. Blake, keep an eye on Mrs. Baker?" the person responsible for surveillance asked Donovan.
"Yes, Pamela is very cunning. If we send someone openly, Pamela will know. You need to help Chloe discreetly. Also," Donovan narrowed his eyes, "watch if Chloe has any contact with that man."
"Which man?"
Donovan sent the surveillance person a photo of Derek.
"Derek. No matter what, you must send photos and WhatsApp updates daily!"
"Got it, Mr. Blake."
Chloe arrived at Emerald Isle Airport, where Derek was waiting to pick her up.
As soon as Chloe came out, Derek opened his arms to welcome her. Chloe quickened her pace and jumped into Derek's embrace.
The person following Chloe snapped photos.
"Have you been waiting long?" Chloe asked Derek.
"Yes, a long time. From Aurora Isle to Emerald Isle, I've been waiting a lifetime. I knew you would come back." Derek said to Chloe.
"Where's Neil? Why didn't he come?" Chloe asked Derek while fastening her seatbelt in the car.
"My dad is at the Adams mansion. Neil said Pamela and Barbara are leaving tomorrow, and Kathy is going with them. But there's still a woman at home taking care of your mom and Bradley. Fortunately, that woman doesn't know you. I'll take you there tomorrow. My dad has already shown Bradley your photo, so he recognizes you." Derek said.
Chloe nodded.
"Stay at my place tonight."
"Your place? Is that convenient?" Chloe asked Derek, tilting her head.
"What's inconvenient? Is it inconvenient for you? My house is big. You haven't been there yet."
Chloe nodded again.
