Chapter 235 Who Pushed Her?
Chloe watched Donovan's carefree figure walk away and muttered, "Jerk."
She thought, 'He has always been so scheming, so good at exploiting others.'
Feeling exhausted, Chloe sat in the KTV for a while, listened to some soothing music, and then took a taxi home.
Sitting in the car, Chloe couldn't help but think of the scene when Amelia fell from the building.
At the sight of Donovan, she felt nothing but hatred.
Chloe found a five-star hotel online and booked a luxurious suite.
But in this lifetime, she would never get into bed with Donovan again.
Since Donovan wanted to sleep with her, she might as well play a trick on him.
As for the order, she believed it all depended on Donovan. If he wanted to give it to her, she would get it, but if he didn't want to give it to her, sleeping with him wouldn't help.

On Chloe's phone, Donovan's contact was still "June."
Every time she saw it, Chloe couldn't help but reminisce about the sweet past.

So, she changed Donovan's contact to "New East Group Mr. Blake," a very business-like name, making it sound like a working relationship.

Chloe messaged Paisley on WhatsApp: [Tomorrow at 6 pm, Whispering Pines Retreat Room 4059. Donovan is waiting for you. Don't blame me if you miss it.]
She figured that by playing this trick on Donovan, she probably wouldn't get the order.
Chloe was prepared to lose money. At least she still had the eight million dollars Donovan gave her.
But with two kids, future education and expansion made Chloe a bit anxious.
Paisley was very surprised to receive Chloe's message, wondering if Chloe was setting a trap for her.
After all, they were never friends.
So she messaged Donovan: [Donovan, what are you doing tomorrow at 6 pm?]
Donovan had just finished showering and was drying his hair. When he saw the question, he knew what Paisley was asking.
He also knew that Chloe had told Paisley about this.
Chloe wanted Paisley to go in her place.
Donovan: [At the office.]
Donovan thought, 'Chloe's plan was executed quite well!
'She definately won't show up tomorrow.'

Although she kept smiling, her gaze was hostile and cold.

But he called Chloe and asked her to come to his office the day after tomorrow to pick up the project materials.
The other companies had already delivered the materials to New East Group.
"Really?" Chloe couldn't believe it. She was packing up in the office.
"Really," Donovan confirmed.
Chloe thought, 'Could it be that Donovan is so happy being served by Paisley that he wants to give me the order?
'But no matter what, getting the order is the key. Christmas is approaching, so I need to get busy, or I won't have money for my kids when the children are born.'
After finishing the call with Donovan, Chloe prepared to leave the office.
Brayden was out on business.
Chloe was pregnant and rarely took the stairs; even when going to the second floor, she always took the elevator.
Now, she had to walk down the stairs.
The staircase was dark. Chloe carefully held onto the handrail, coughing with each step to trigger the sensor lights.
Chloe was afraid of accidents, especially since she was pregnant with twins for five months. Any accident would endanger both the mother and the children.
But just as Chloe was descending the first step of the second floor, suddenly, someone pushed her. Chloe screamed and tumbled down the stairs.
Terrified, Chloe hit her head and felt dizzy, but even so, she desperately kept protecting her belly.
She was afraid the children might be in danger.
She kept wondering, 'Who pushed me?'
