Chapter 160 The Little Wildcat That Bites

Chloe sat on the bus, feeling angry and confused.
She and Brayden were used by Barbara again this time.
Returning home, her mom wasn't there, but the lights were on.
Chloe called out for her mom several times, but there was no response.
Pushing open the door to her own room, she saw Donovan sitting in the chair in her room.
Chloe thought: 'Maybe he knows about what happened today.'
But she didn't see his car downstairs, did he park it in a hidden place? Driving was much faster than taking the bus.
It seemed like tonight he deliberately caught Chloe off guard.
Just as she was about to close the door and leave, Donovan grabbed her around the waist and threw her onto the bed.
He pinned Chloe down.
"What have you two been up to?" he coldly questioned Chloe.
"Where's my mom?"
"I'm asking you what you both were up to that night!" He raised his voice, gripping Chloe's chin tightly with both hands.
"I'm asking you where my mom is?" Chloe raised her voice as well.
She was very worried about her mom, her eyes ready to shoot fire.
Thinking of Donovan's ruthlessness, she wondered: 'Did he have someone poison my mom?'
"What did you two do at the hotel?"
"It's none of your business!" Chloe, seeing he didn't answer her question, got angry and turned her head away, ignoring Donovan.
Perhaps his possessiveness was acting up again.
Donovan stripped Chloe's clothes off and began to have his way with her.
Chloe resisted fiercely, scratching his back, biting his neck, biting his lips...
When both were completely exhausted, Donovan, shirtless, stood in front of the dressing mirror in Chloe's room, examining his back and neck.
"The little wildcat that bites!" he gritted his teeth, addressing Chloe.
Chloe was in so much pain she couldn't move, lying on the bed, breathing heavily, squinting her eyes to rest.
"Where's my mom?" Chloe asked again.
"Is that all you can say?" Donovan said in an exasperated tone.
Chloe disdainfully closed her eyes, not saying a word.
Donovan fastened his belt, turned toward Chloe, and once again gripped her chin, his tone much gentler than before. "Did you do it with him?"
Chloe kept her eyes closed, he was really concerned about this question, afraid his prey had been taken by someone else.
She tried to turn her head, but Donovan pulled it back.
"Did you do it?" he asked again.
In fact, he had probed earlier, thinking it probably hadn't happened.
"Men and women together, going to a hotel room, do you think it's just for a chat? What do you think?" Chloe opened her eyes, glaring at him. "Where's my mom?"
It was already past ten at night, and her mom hadn't returned. Usually at this time, her mom would be asleep. Chloe couldn't help but worry.
"You still won't admit it! Don't you know lying makes your nose grow longer?" Donovan released Chloe's chin.
"Where's my mom?" Chloe sat on the bed in anger.
The blanket slipped down to her chest, revealing a large expanse of fair skin, but she didn't care.
At that moment, the sound of the door lock echoed.
Chloe heard her mom speaking. She knew her mom was back.
"Mom, where did you go?" Chloe shouted loudly from her room.
"Donovan made a reservation at a restaurant for us. The driver took us to eat, and he bought me clothes I didn't want." Her mom's voice sounded happy yet somewhat uneasy.
No wonder she hadn't seen his car, it had been taken away by the driver.
Chloe glared at Donovan, finally letting go of the tension she had been holding.
"You jerk!"
"You'd better pray my wounds heal by tomorrow, or you'll have consequences to face," Donovan said and then left.
Chloe heard him talking to her mom in the living room, but she couldn't make out what they were saying.
She fell asleep.
The next morning, she realized she was lying in Donovan's arms.
Feeling like she had encountered a plague, Chloe quickly turned away.
But he stopped her again, holding her even tighter.
Their bodies pressed together, his warmth enveloping her, ignited Chloe's rage instantly.
This time, she wouldn't forgive Donovan.
Chloe increasingly felt that Donovan was an inscrutable person, unsure of where his limits lay.
Perhaps he thought that with money, he could do as he pleased, that what happened with Brayden and Ellie was no big deal.
As for the misunderstanding in his office last time, what was it really about...
The last time they had a conflict was because of Brayden, but saving him that time was indeed instinctual.
This time, Chloe decided, she wouldn't.
