Chapter 351 Your Romantic History Seems Quite Extensive

Chloe kept her eyes shut, drifting off until Donovan nudged her awake.

"Still sleeping? I booked us a room. If you're tired, go ahead and crash. I'll have someone bring up some food later," Donovan said, holding her hand.

"Booked a room?"

"Yeah, booked a room."

"Look at her, so naive, doesn't even know what booking a room means?" a male classmate teased.

Donovan ignored him and said to Chloe, "They don't get it. Book a room and show them."

"Alright, I'll wait for you in the room," Chloe said, letting go of his hand and standing up from the couch.

"Hey, class president, why's your wife waiting for you? Didn't she just have a baby? Exciting, huh?" someone called out behind her.

"Very exciting. You should try it," Donovan shot back.

Chloe thought, 'When high school friends get together, the guys always talk about crude stuff, while the girls are here for nostalgia.'

Back in the room, Chloe lay on the soft bed, sinking into the warm covers, feeling very comfortable.

She didn't know how long she had slept when she suddenly felt short of breath and was awakened by a flurry of kisses.

"Had enough sleep?" Donovan asked.

"What time is it?"

"A little past eight. Want to take a walk around Pearl Peak City University?" he suggested.

"Sure." Kenneth used to teach there, and Chloe had discussed the differences between Maple Valley University and Pearl Peak City University with him. Naturally, she was curious about the place where Kenneth had worked.

Pearl Peak City University was close to the hotel, and they arrived around 8:30 PM.

Donovan pointed out the buildings to Chloe, showing her the lecture halls, lab buildings, Lab One, Lab Two, the first cafeteria, the second cafeteria, and the sports field.

"Pearl Peak City University is bigger than Maple Valley, and the scenery is quite beautiful." Chloe recalled Maya mentioning that her son was planning to attend this university, thinking he had good taste.

"It is beautiful," Donovan said as they strolled through the campus. A gentle breeze blew, making Chloe feel very comfortable.

"Why didn't you apply to Pearl Peak City University back then?" Chloe suddenly asked.

"Me?" Donovan looked around. "I respect Pearl Peak City University. But I don't think much of it."

Chloe responded with an "Oh," thinking, 'If he doesn't think much of Pearl Peak City University, he probably doesn't think much of Maple Valley University either.'

"You have pretty high standards," Chloe said, "Shall we head back?"

Chloe hooked her pinky finger around Donovan's.

They walked towards the campus gate.

As they passed the student dorms, Chloe heard laughter and playful sounds coming from inside, reminding her of when she lived in the dorms, and Andrew would often wait for her downstairs, bringing breakfast in the morning and snacks at night.

"Who are you thinking about now?" Donovan's tone had a hint of mockery.

Chloe thought, 'He knows everything I'm thinking.'

"Why do you keep holding a grudge against someone who's already dead?" Chloe retorted.

Thinking of Donovan's kindness to her, she thought, 'If only my past were clean. Unfortunately, besides being ordinary in background and education, I couldn't even keep my past spotless.'

Donovan let out a light "hmph". It was precisely because Andrew was dead that he held a grudge.

As they walked past a display case, Chloe caught a glimpse of some words in the light of the streetlamp: [Outstanding Young Teachers of Our School.] One name, [Cynthia Young,] caught her attention. There was also a photo of her—a long-haired, gentle woman who was quite beautiful.

"Your romantic history seems quite extensive." Chloe thought, recalling the "Cynthia" mentioned by the girls earlier. She wondered if they were talking about the same person.
