Chapter 595 I Am Your Daughter's Boyfriend
"Chloe, are you out of your mind?" Jacob glared at Chloe.
"Jacob, is that any way to talk to me? You want to chase after Angela? Do you even know what kind of person Angela is? She had an affair with a married man and got scalded with hot water on her lower body. I visited her in the hospital just a few days ago. Are you stupid? Still treating Angela like she's some kind of treasure?" Chloe shouldn't have spoken about her student like that, but the person she was facing was her brother, Jacob.
Angela was pretty, but she was a terrible student. There were rumors that she only got into grad school by sleeping with a professor.
Jacob nodded regretfully.
Even though the girl was promiscuous, she was really attractive and knew how to seduce men.
The reason Jacob wanted to pursue her was because one time at his car detailing shop, a luxury car came in, and a girl was sitting in the passenger seat. It was Angela.
The driver got out to smoke a cigarette, and Jacob glanced over unintentionally. He thought this woman was stunningly beautiful, and she instantly captivated him.
The reason he pursued her so openly was that during the car wash, Jacob thought the man driving was Angela's father. Now it seemed he didn't even know which lover he was.
Jacob had come to the school several times, but Angela hadn't even looked at him.
This time, he wanted to use his trump card. He not only dressed in rich people's clothes but also brought a blood pack, ready to go all out.
Unexpectedly, he ran into Chloe.
"Wasted my efforts on a promiscuous person!" Jacob cursed as he walked away.
Chloe glanced at her watch. It was getting late, so she hurried to the classroom.
Chloe's home.
Paula was very quiet, sitting alone watching TV. Ever since she and Chloe attended that seminar, she had loved watching TV, probably hoping to see that familiar face, Fred, the man who seemed to be etched in Paula's heart, the one who haunted her dreams. But now, the TV was full of young actors whose acting skills were far inferior to those of that time.
Paula was too irritated to watch.
"What's wrong?" Donovan, sitting in a recliner, was reading a book on trust law.
"Who are you?" Paula asked Donovan cautiously.
"Me?" Donovan looked up at Paula.
This was Donovan's first one-on-one interaction with Paula. He scrutinized Paula's features, trying to find traces of Chloe in her.
He had to admit, both women were stunning beauties.
Paula nodded.
"I'm your daughter's boyfriend."
"Chloe's?"
"Yes."
Paula seemed to have a moment of realization, then asked worriedly, "Where did Chloe go? Is she coming back?"
"Chloe went to class. She'll be back in the afternoon. Someone will come to look after you in the afternoon, so don't be scared." Donovan wanted to prepare Paula in advance to avoid confusion later.
Sure enough, Paula became a bit flustered, "Look after me? Who? Who is it? I want Chloe here."
Paula shrank into a corner.
Donovan thought for a moment. The caregiver might arrive before Chloe returned, so he said, "Don't worry, I'll be here."
Paula finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"What do you want for lunch?"
"I don't know," Paula said, her eyes blank.
"If you don't tell me, I'll just make something myself, okay?"
"Okay."
