Chapter 122 He's Really Considering Chloe

Donovan first took Chloe to the women's department, his gaze focused as he took down many clothes from the racks for Chloe to try on.
He sat on the sofa and waited for Chloe.

"What's wrong?" Donovan asked.
Chloe bent down and whispered in Donovan's ear, "My period isn’t over yet, I'm afraid I'll get it on the clothes."
"Like this?" Donovan took the clothes and checked the size, picking out a few for Chloe.
The clothes Donovan picked were simple and elegant, and of good quality. The style was not exceptional, but they looked good when worn.
Chloe wouldn't have paid attention to those clothes before.
Then, he took Chloe somewhere else to buy a bag.
"I don't need a bag, and I don't like it either." Chloe waved her hand.
"Don't you think I've been embarrassed enough today? I might be an important man, but I can't handle this kind of embarrassment from you. Go buy a few bags that are more expensive than the one today." Donovan patted Chloe's back.
Chloe looked around helplessly and saw a nice Hermès bag, made of canvas and similar to a laptop bag. It was very low-key and the price was reasonable. She bought two for $80,000.
Then, Donovan took Chloe to the men's department.
Donovan asked Chloe to pick out some ties for him. He wanted ten for tonight.
Although Chloe grumbled inwardly, she had to follow his orders. She picked up one tie after another, comparing them on Donovan's body, and finally selected ten.
"Alright, let's go pay," Donovan said.
But he didn't give Chloe any money or a card.
"You want me to pay?" Chloe's face turned dark. Each tie cost more than $5,000, so ten ties added up to almost $60,000.
"Yes, you," he replied.
"I have to pay for my own clothes too?"
"Should I pay for you then?" Donovan said matter-of-factly.
Chloe thought to herself, 'Donovan isn't a stingy person, so what's going on today?'
They spent over $500,000 in total, and Chloe gritted her teeth as she paid the bill.
She wondered if she would feel strained when she left Donovan in the future and didn't have as much money.
Chloe had gotten $1 million from Donovan last time, which she had used to hire caregivers for her mother and pay for hospital fees. She had just spent over $500,000, leaving her with only a little over $200,000. On top of that, she still had to use her own money to order custom shirts for Donovan every month.
She didn’t have much money left and had to save it to pay for her mother's hospital fees.
She couldn't help but feel anxious as she saw her funds dwindling.
When they went to bed that night, Donovan kissed Chloe again, making her feel restless. He also rubbed her belly.
Chloe felt so lovingly overwhelmed. She turned to the side and hugged Donovan's neck. "Honey."
"Did you miss me?" His lips brushed against Chloe's cheek, making her feel ticklish, but he didn’t kiss her.
It seemed as if he would let Chloe burst with frustration if she didn't say the answer he expected.
He was so cruel!
"I missed you so much," Chloe said, hugging his scorching body.
Because of Chloe's condition, she didn't make a lunchbox the next day, and she slept in very late.
Additionally, Donovan commanded her to wear the clothes and carry the bag she had bought the day before.
Chloe understood his intention. He probably wanted his colleagues in the finance department to see that the person they had suspected of stealing yesterday was now dressed head to toe in high-end brands, all because she had told Donovan yesterday that she had bought a fake bag with his money. Today, Donovan was "punishing" her by making everything she wore genuine.

At the same time, James received an internal phone call from Donovan. "Tell Chloe to go to the audit department on Monday."
James was frightened and stood up from his chair. "Okay, okay."
It seemed like Mr. Blake wanted Chloe to show off her style in the finance department today and then leave gracefully to the audit department.
