Chapter 546 Good Girl
"Enough, you're thirty years old. Stop being so childish." Chloe said as she tidied up.
Jane threw a tissue on the floor. "What are you talking about? There's a big difference between twenty-eight and thirty, okay? One is in their best period, the other is getting old. This show is pretty good. I didn't like this kind of show before, but maybe today I related it to me and Jeffery, and ended up watching it all night."
Chloe paused and asked, "Do you have delusions?"
"Whatever you say."
"Are you going to eat or go back to sleep? You can be very free in my place anyway." Chloe said.
"Did you have sex with Mr. Blake this morning? You two are up early, looking like you are not satisfied last night." Jane said.
Chloe suddenly froze, then slowly said, "Nonsense."
"I'm an OB-GYN. You think I can't tell when you've had sex and what you smell like?" Jane finally shifted her attention from the TV to Chloe.
Chloe sniffed herself all over, but all she could smell was her own faint fragrance.
"Stop sniffing! You can't tell. It's an OB-GYN's specialty!" Jane said, a bit smugly.
"Stop talking nonsense." Chloe said, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"Let me ask you something serious. Are you going back to Maple Valley this weekend?"
"Back to Maple Valley? Why?" Chloe wasn't opposed to the idea.
" I'm going to win over Maya with no doubt. If I had known earlier that Maya had such a handsome and responsible son, I would have tried to win her over long ago." Jane said. Jane wasn't just attracted to Jeffery's looks; she admired his sense of responsibility, as shown by his actions regarding the paper and his decision not to pursue Chloe. So, Jane decided to go after him.
"Isn't that putting the cart before the horse?" Chloe teased Jane.
"You're the one. I'm five years older than Jeffery, and since he's in the military now, I can take the opportunity to win over his parents. Do you know why Jeffery never introduced you to his parents? It's because of the age difference. If I win over his parents now, when Jeffery comes back, we can get married." Jane said while folding the blanket.
"Are you serious?" Chloe suddenly felt that Jane's words made a lot of sense. "But what good does it do if I go back?"
Jane looked at Chloe with a hint of disdain. "If you don't go back, what excuse do I have to visit your house? To see Mr. Blake? People would think I have ulterior motives. Also, your relationship with Maya isn't great right now, so you can use this opportunity to mend it. Kill two birds with one stone."
Chloe still didn't quite understand what Jane's plan had to do with her, but it was clear that she was definitely going back to Maple Valley on Saturday.
"I'll be leaving this afternoon. " Jane said, sounding a bit down about going back to work.
"Okay. I'll treat you a nice lunch."
At noon, they took a cab to a restaurant.
Chloe increasingly realized that Jane was incredibly perceptive and smart. Chloe used to be closer to Sofia when they worked together, but now, seeing Jane, she realized that Jane was the good girl all along.
