Chapter 690 He Got Jealous
The news of Jeffery's disappearance reached Jane, but Jeffery had already blocked her, so she couldn't message him.
She found out Jeffery was expelled from the military by calling his dorm.
"Expelled?" Jane was shocked when she heard this. Jeffery was so outstanding that Jane was naturally stunned.
"Yeah, he got caught sleeping with a woman," Jeffery's roommate added.
From the voice, Jeffery's roommate had already guessed that the caller was the woman Jeffery slept with. He wanted Jane to know that Jeffery's expulsion was all her fault.
Everyone in the dorm felt it was unfair for Jeffery to be expelled, except for the one who was jealous of him. They all had a good relationship with Jeffery, so they were naturally angry when Jane called.
Jane was very surprised and deeply regretted her actions. If she had known this would happen, she wouldn't have treated Jeffery that way.
Worried, she tried calling Jeffery, but he had blocked her. She feared Jeffery might do something foolish and was very anxious, so she called Chloe in the middle of the night.
Chloe was just about to sleep.
"Chloe, did you know Jeffery was expelled from the military?" Jane said nervously.
"What? He was doing so well. How could this happen?" Chloe sat up in bed, leaning against the headboard, which also woke up Donovan beside her. Donovan glanced at her.
Jane didn't want Chloe to know that Jeffery's expulsion was her fault. How much guilt would she have to bear?
"It's complicated. Just find out where he is," Jane said.
After hanging up, Chloe immediately called Jeffery, but he didn't answer.
She texted him: [What happened? Where are you?]
He didn't reply either.
Chloe felt a mix of emotions. Jeffery was Maya's son and had been her student. Although Jeffery's pursuit of Chloe made her uncomfortable, he was a decent person. At least regarding the thesis issue, he didn't blame Cynthia or speak ill of Chloe. He was very responsible and performed well in school. Chloe even felt guilty about the thesis incident.
Chloe guessed that Jeffery was probably afraid of leaving a bad impression on her, so he stayed silent after being expelled and didn't tell her.
"Did you know Jeffery was expelled from the military?" Chloe asked Donovan. "We don't know where he is now. Can you help find out? He might respond to you. He didn't reply to me."
Donovan gave Chloe a deep look and mocked her, "Maybe he's afraid of ruining his good image in your eyes."
"Now's not the time for that," Chloe glared at Donovan.
Donovan was already texting Jeffery: [Where are you?]
Soon, Jeffery sent Donovan a location.
Sure enough, Jeffery didn't dare ignore Donovan's message.
Donovan sent the location to Chloe, and Chloe forwarded it to Jane.
Donovan probably thought Chloe's concern for Jeffery was inappropriate and felt jealous. He turned over and got on top of Chloe.
When Chloe, blushing, got off Donovan, she heard a knock on the door downstairs.
In the middle of the night, it was very jarring.
Soon, there was a knock on Chloe's door from the servant. Chloe threw on some clothes and went to the living room. It was Jane, looking very anxious, with sweat all over her forehead.
"Chloe, please come with me to Jeffery's place." Jane tightly gripped Chloe's arm, speaking in a low voice to avoid waking Maya. "I'm afraid something might happen to him. It's all my fault he got expelled."
It was the first time Chloe saw Jane so anxious and remorseful. She nodded, "Okay."
Donovan also came downstairs.
"Can you come with us?" Chloe asked Donovan.
Donovan had already guessed Jane's purpose. To avoid disturbing Maya, he simply said, "Okay."
He picked up the keys from the table, locked the door, and the three of them went out.
