Chapter 674 Conflict Resolution
The next day, Chloe made sure to get home early. Jane was already there, and she had brought a bunch of delicious food for Chloe.
Seeing her old friend like this, Chloe felt even more guilty about slapping her.
But between good friends, saying sorry feels too formal.
So she just asked Jane, "You're here?"
"Yeah." Jane still seemed a bit resentful.
"Here to improve your impression with Jeffery?" Chloe teased her on purpose.
Jane felt a bit awkward. The main reason she came was indeed for that, but also to make up with Chloe. After all, they had been friends for so many years.
"Can't I come just for you?" Jane complained, "And by the way, you'll regret it about that kid in the future."
"Not necessarily. You don't have kids yet. Children are angels, blank slates. Whatever you draw on them, that's what they become. I believe Jake will be a good kid in the future," Chloe said confidently. In the infirmary, she could see the light in Jake's eyes and what it represented. She was very pleased.
"Fine, I can't argue with you. But when I came here, you better post something on Facebook," Jane said.
"Alright. Just to let Jeffery see, right? Got it," Chloe winked.
Donovan came back and saw Jane. The family sat harmoniously at the table for dinner.
Francis and Jake came out of their room. Jake saw it was Jane from last time and felt particularly scared. Whenever he saw Jane, he would think of that day's argument and his grievances. Jake stood there, not moving forward, and stood beside Chloe, helplessly saying, "Mom, Mom."
Jane saw him and, still a bit resentful, said, "I'm sorry, I wronged you that day."
Chloe smiled, "Look, Jane is here to apologize to you. Jane did wrong us that day, didn't she?"
Jane thought to herself, 'Wrong him? As if! Cynthia's child, Janet's nephew!'
Jake's mood finally eased, and he sat down to eat.
"I signed them up for ice skating lessons. I've been wanting to sign Francis up for a while but kept delaying it. From now on, every Saturday from 2 to 3 PM, they'll go ice skating. There will be a driver and Maya with them. You can go if you have time," Donovan gave Chloe a look, letting her understand on her own.
"Okay." Chloe nodded.
After dinner, Donovan went upstairs, leaving time for Chloe and her friend.
Maya specifically poured Jane a glass of milk to help her sleep well at night.
"Thank you, Maya," Jane said with a smile.
Jane was a tall, slim, and cheerful girl, well-liked by others. Maya still didn't know that she liked Jeffery, nor did she understand why Jeffery was so angry that day. Moreover, Chloe had slapped Jane that day. Maya felt Jane was wronged and naturally treated her well.
Seeing Jake sitting on the couch, Jane sat next to him. Then she said to Chloe, "How about a staged photo?"
"Sure."
So, Jake played with toys beside them, Francis directed Jake, and Jane sat next to them with a sweet smile.
Chloe captured the moment and posted it on Facebook, writing: [Everyone loses their temper sometimes. Conflict resolved!]
She set the post so only Jeffery, Donovan, and Jane could see it.
