Chapter 92: Angering You
After Donovan said this, Chloe couldn't bring herself to come out of the bathroom. She felt guilty.
"What is it?" Chloe asked anxiously.
"Donovan closed his eyes and rubbed his forehead. Chloe, trying to appease him, asked if he needed eye drops.
He declined, saying he would feel better soon. His phone kept buzzing with WhatsApp messages.
He ordered Chloe to check his phone.
She couldn't help but wonder how he always seemed to know what she was thinking.
Just the other day, she had been thinking about how she had never seen his phone before.
Chloe took his phone and saw a message from someone named 'Snowflake.' It was a picture of her, dressed stylishly and with fiery red lips, taken while she was filming in another city.
There was also a text message that said, 'Donovan, I will be attending the release event of 'Dear Doctor' in Maple Valley in a few days. Will you come? I miss you. Do you miss me?'
Chloe felt extremely uncomfortable and remained silent. Donovan asked what was wrong.
Chloe replied, 'Paisley is filming in another city. She will be attending a release event in Maple Valley soon. She wants to know if you miss her.'
Unconsciously, Chloe felt a hint of grievance.
'Give it to me,' Donovan reached out for his phone. Chloe handed it over and left to go to the restroom.
As she poured out the foot washing water, she couldn't help but think that he probably regretted showing her his phone and was now replying to Paisley. Who knows what he said to her - those two are such cheaters! In that moment, Chloe felt both guilty and resentful towards Donovan. Guilty for everything he had done for her, and resentful for his entanglement with Paisley, the affectionate display they showed in front of her."
