Chapter 661 Everyone is Chatting Lively
Charlotte grew up as an only child, living a pretty cushy life. She was super smart but also pretty naive, always seeing the best in people and never thinking anyone could be bad.
"Why?" Charlotte asked Donovan, tilting her head with those innocent eyes of hers.
"You bought a house. We should celebrate. Tomorrow with Charles. I'll let him know."
"Okay." Charlotte was thrilled about going to Donovan's for dinner. She loved a good get-together.
On the ninth floor, Donovan and Charlotte went their separate ways.
Charlotte headed to Charles's office, knocked, and heard a "Come in." She walked in and saw Charles hard at work at his desk.
He didn't know who it was since the receptionist had just said, "Mr. Wilson, someone is here to see you."
For some reason, Charlotte found Charles pretty handsome when he was working, and for a moment, she felt a little spark.
Charles looked up and saw it was Charlotte.
"What brings you here?" Charles stood up and poured her some water.
"My dad's buying a house, and he asked me to bring the documents to you."
"Has he decided?"
"Yeah, two units."
"Alright, I'll get the sales department to handle the paperwork." Charles called the sales department.
Right after the call, Donovan's message came through: [Jeffery is coming to my place tomorrow to see Maya. I'll have Jane come over too; you and Charlotte should come as well. At dinner, I'll hint at Jane and Jeffery's relationship, so Charlotte won't think about it anymore.]
[Got it.]
After finishing the house sale paperwork, Charlotte asked Charles, "Mr. Blake is inviting us to dinner tomorrow. Are you going?"
"He just texted me. Yeah, I'm going."
"Okay."
The next day, Jeffery showed up at Donovan's house pretty early. He only had one day off and was out shopping. Since it was close to Maple Valley, he figured he'd drop by to see Maya.
The housekeeper was busy in the kitchen, and Maya and Jeffery were chatting away on the couch.
Jane showed up too, looking all determined when she saw Jeffery.
Jeffery wasn't too thrilled to see Jane, frowning and not saying a word to her.
Chloe was nearby, cutting fruit. Seeing Jane's determined look, she kept giving Donovan looks, hoping he'd help set them up.
But Donovan wasn't playing along.
Soon enough, Charles and Charlotte arrived.
With six people in total, the place got even livelier.
"Mr. Blake, my dad asked me to thank you for the big discount," Charlotte said.
"You're welcome. Let's sit down and eat," Donovan said.
While everyone was eating, Francis and Jake came back from playing outside. Jake plopped down on the couch.
Francis was super happy to see Jeffery. He had a ton to talk about and kept asking Jeffery questions. Jeffery liked Francis too, and the two of them, one big and one small, chatted away.
Jeffery's military cap was on the couch. Jake didn't say anything, but he noticed the emblem on Jeffery's cap was really cool, and he wanted it.
While the adults weren't paying attention, Jake slyly took the emblem off and slipped it into his pocket, then casually went to the table to eat.
Francis had been washing his hands and didn't see this. Soon, the two kids joined the table.
Everyone was having a lively conversation.
