Chapter 256 I Don't Regret It At All
"Chloe is pregnant with boy-girl twins?" Maya was very surprised but also very happy.
"Yes. The ultrasound results show that. But we should rely on the 'actual objects' in the end, rely on the actual objects," Jane said with a look, saying that if the result was different, she would not be responsible.
"Chloe, why didn’t you tell us about such a big news!" Maya complained about Chloe while looking at Donovan over there.

Donovan immediately understood why Brayden gave those two dolls to Chloe. It didn't represent Chloe and Brayden, but it represented Chloe's two children!

Donovan pulled a long face.

After dinner, Maya went to wash the dishes.
Charles invited everyone to play cards, while Donovan sat on the sofa reading a book.
"Donovan, why are you buried in a book at a moment like this! If you keep leveling up your smarts with all this reading, are we even going to stand a chance?" Charles shot a sidelong glance at Donovan, who was engrossed in some finance book.
"Just play your cards!" Donovan said impatiently.
"Look, we are staying in the same room, why is there such a big gap between us and others?" Charles said to the people playing cards.
"Nonsense. We can't compare to Mr. Blake's level," Logan added.
Chloe sat between Sofia and Jane, watching them play, thinking to herself, 'The level is high, but not tolerant, especially towards her, so strict.'
Chloe glanced disdainfully at Donovan, just as Donovan's gaze seemed to pass over Chloe inadvertently.
Their eyes met, and Chloe quickly looked away.
Chloe said, "Sofia, why do you always give Logan a chance? If you win, it's your husband and wife's money!" Chloe watched as Logan kept winning while Jane kept losing, cursing "bad cards, bad luck" under her breath.
Chloe watched the game alone on the side, saying "You lost" dozens of times.
"I'm throwing in the towel; my luck's down the drain tonight, already a grand in the hole. I nearly blew through all the pocket money my mom forked over. Chloe, you're up." With that, Jane bowed out, heading to the back.
When Chloe heard Jane mention her mom giving her money, her smile froze for a moment, but then quickly returned to normal.
Last year, Amelia also gave her a New Year's gift.
Jane stopped playing cards and sat on the sofa, chatting with Chloe, "Chloe, how's your business going this year?"
"Barely breaking even," Chloe said with a hint of pride.
"Well, your job isn't that great. In our New East Group audit department, each auditor gets a minimum bonus of fifteen thousand dollars this year, with no upper limit. If you were in our New East Group..." Sofia said.
She also glanced at Donovan to see his expression.
Subordinates normally speak well of their superiors.
Chloe was stunned for a moment, not expecting New East Group to be doing so well. It was indeed a listed company, not something their small firm could compare to.
Sofia asked, "How about it? Do you want to come back?"
"Our ideals are different. I don't regret it at all." Chloe pretended disdainfully.
But after saying that, she felt like she had said the wrong thing. What was she implying?
Clearly, everyone noticed Chloe's "no regrets" statement. Sofia kicked her under the table and muttered, "Are you stupid?"
Sofia thought, ‘Divorcing Mr. Blake and saying "no regrets" in front of him was asking for trouble!
Chloe gave Sofia a look.
"Oh, Chloe, let me tell you something big. Our New East Group audit department's yoga class started this month." Sofia said excitedly, "Unfortunately, those downstairs can't go upstairs. It's so high-end, specially designed for auditors."
"There are plenty of yoga classes," Chloe said indifferently.
"It's not the same. I told you about M. Rebacca last time. Do you remember? She specializes in prenatal yoga, which is very good for you and the baby, making childbirth very easy for you, even with twins. Mr. Rebacca's skill is unique in all of Maple Valley, not something any yoga class can offer." Sofia said.
"Wow!" Chloe was amazed. She hadn't thought about the situation during childbirth yet, but everyone said that children born naturally are smart, and she wouldn't have to undergo surgery on her stomach.
"Chloe, from a professional doctor's perspective, I think you should consider this." Jane said, sitting on the sofa, "Besides, you can go directly from home, which is very convenient. This kind of private lesson costs over a hundred dollars outside."
Jane and Chloe were not colleagues before, lacked understanding of the entanglement between her and Donovan, and she wasn't Donovan's subordinate, so naturally, her words weren't as flattering towards Donovan as Sofia's.
"So expensive!" Chloe frowned slightly.
But even if Jane and Sofia spoke highly of it, Chloe wouldn't return to New East Group. Her wish was to be an independent auditor, and that wish had now come true.
The New East Group audit department doesn't allow outsiders in, so she wouldn't go.
She didn't think much of it.
"Yeah, leaving New East Group, you'll regret it," Sofia said to Chloe, then glanced at Donovan.
Donovan sat on the sofa reading, expressionless.
