Chapter 010 Intimate Contact with His Abs and Towel

The atmosphere tensed in an instant. Ryan looked towards Patrick, "Dad...Xavier also—"

He felt that Xavier was being unreasonable!

Before he could finish, Patrick kicked his ankle sharply, "Apologize to Xavier right now!"

Ryan was caught off guard and ended up on his knees, his kneecaps thudding against the floor. Having been punished for so long, his knees were already sore and numb, and now the pain made him grit his teeth.

"There was no evidence; you just barged into my room," Xavier explained briefly, letting Patrick in on the reason for the commotion. "You claim to be looking for your fiancée, yet you couldn't find her after a long search. Then you assumed she'd be under my blankets. Does that sound reasonable to you, Patrick?"

"Unreasonable. Completely unreasonable," Patrick concurred, his smile apologetic. He then turned to Ryan, his look fierce. "Apologize, now!" he demanded.

"Dad, I didn't, I..." Ryan's excuse was cut short as Patrick slapped him hard across the face. "Speak out of turn again, and I'll beat you senseless!"

Ryan, who had rarely seen Patrick so angry, reluctantly muttered his apology through clenched teeth. "I'm sorry, Xavier. It was reckless of me to storm in like that."

"Is your apology just for me?" It was clear Xavier wasn't satisfied.

"I'm sorry to Grace as well. I shouldn't have wronged her." Each word of apology to Grace was extremely difficult for Ryan to utter.

Xavier remained silent, so Ryan dared not stand up from his kneeling position.

Under the covers, Grace's heart skipped a beat. Even at a time like this, Xavier had thought to make Ryan apologize to her. She felt that maybe Xavier wasn't as cold and heartless as he was made out to be online.

Grace, nearly suffocating, nudged Xavier to wrap things up so the Montgomerys could leave, allowing her to emerge.

But Xavier was unfazed. Grace poked him more insistently, not anticipating that as she withdrew her hand, it would snag Xavier's loose towel. The towel unraveled at his waist. Located at his hip, Grace watched in horror as the towel began sliding toward his groin. Quickly, she grabbed a corner of the towel and lifted it.

However, in the cramped space under the covers, her hand accidentally brushed against his groin.

Grace didn't realize what she had done, but Xavier let out a stifled groan, his face darkening significantly.

He wondered, ‘Did Grace do that on purpose? Does she think I won't retaliate with others present?’

Xavier held onto Grace's hand, including the offending finger, within his large, burning palm. The heat seemed to reach into her very core.

"Someone from your household staff saw Grace come into my place. Which one of your staff dares to recklessly slander Ryan's future wife?" Xavier's words made it clear to Patrick that he was determined to get to the bottom of it.

"Xavier, it's too late for this. Why don't we just let it go?" Patrick suggested, hoping to avoid conflict.

"You sure you want to drop it, Patrick?" Xavier's gaze bore into Patrick with an unmistakable warning.

Patrick felt a sense of panic. Despite his extensive business background and encounters with various individuals, Xavier managed to evoke a chilling sensation in him.

If they didn't settle this matter now, Xavier would surely seek revenge later.

Frustrated, Patrick kicked Ryan. "Speak up! Who was it?"

Fearing Patrick's anger, Ryan confessed everything in a rush, "It was... it was Wendy who told me. She said Grace must be inside, so I came in."

Wendy, who had been listening in at the door, never expected Ryan to betray her. When Patrick's gaze turned her way, she knew she was in trouble.

She hurried in, quickly denying everything. "No, that's not true. I... I didn't see anything. Ryan, how could you lie?"

Whether Wendy admitted it or not didn't matter anymore.

"Why is it not you now? You told me you saw it with your own eyes. That's why I believed you. Wendy, why won't you admit it now?" Ryan argued.

The two of them started quarreling fiercely.

"Enough! Since you like to talk so much, you won't need your tongue anymore." Xavier's eyes narrowed, his dangerous aura intensifying.

Grace had witnessed Xavier's methods firsthand. His oppressive presence wasn't something anyone could withstand.

She was glad to be alive. She must not have offended him severely, or else, she would have been a goner.

Grace decided she would steer clear of Xavier in the future!

"Xavier, Xavier, please show some mercy. Wendy is your niece, after all. She's young and doesn't understand. I hope you won't hold it against her. Xavier, rest assured. I will reprimand them properly and give you an explanation," Patrick implored.

Xavier was about to say something more when Grace, hidden under the covers, seemed to be suffocating. The air was getting thin under the fabric, and her breath grew hotter. With her face against Xavier's abdomen, her breath spread over his skin.

He did not want to be driven by impulse, but his desire seemed beyond his control.

"All right, get out," he managed to say at last.

Patrick was surprised. He thought, "Xavier was just about to hold Wendy and Ryan accountable for their offenses, how could he suddenly turn so lenient?"

Not daring to hesitate, Patrick quickly ushered Wendy and Ryan out, closing the door behind them for Xavier.

Grace hastily threw off the covers, then took deep, gulping breaths of air.

Her waterfall-like hair was in disarray, and her cheeks flushed red from the lack of oxygen—it made her look, almost ironically, as if she had just been making love.

"Mr. Montgomery, thank you. You're so handsome. You truly are a great guy!" Grace showered Xavier with unrestrained praise.

He looked at her with a smirk, not fully convinced by her gratitude. "I helped you out this time, let’s say it’s a sort of compensation for last night."

"Last night?" Grace blinked. "What happened last night?"

Xavier's expression deepened; he seemed to admire her for something. She was pretty sharp.

"Mr. Montgomery, you truly came through for me. They must still be waiting outside for me. If I go out now, I'll surely get caught. I don't suppose that you'll be staying here tonight, either. Maybe you should go first?" she stated, coyly.

Xavier let out a scoff. "Grace cut out the seduction games and prepare yourself to marry Ryan."

He was referring to the incident with her yanking away his towel, so he believed she had done it on purpose.

However, Grace thought Xavier was referring to the fact that they were currently sharing the same bed.

"How am I seducing you? Mr. Montgomery, you were the one who brought me to bed. Or did you forget?" Grace flashed a foxy smile. She was indeed telling the truth.

Just a moment ago, when Ryan had come to the door, she had begged Xavier for help. Just when she thought he wouldn't aid her, he had wrapped an arm around her waist and without giving her a moment to prepare, whisked her off to the bed. He’d even pressed her down by the head so she ended up close to his abs.
