Chapter 145 Dining with Omari and Encountering Xavier

Chapter 145 Dining with Omari and Encountering Xavier

Grace and Angela had barely taken a few steps when they ran into Omari.

"Angela, Grace," Omari called out to them.

Angela responded, "Omari."

"Are you two alright? I just saw your car. Did something happen?"

Omari's gaze fell on Grace. He noticed her face looked a bit pale, as if she had been frightened.

"We're good. Nothing happened!" Angela replied.

Omari said, "You've always been mischievous since you were little. Grace, are you alright?"

Grace shook her head. "Thank you for your concern, I'm fine."

"That's good to hear. You really scared me. How about we have lunch together later? I've just booked a private room. What do you think?"

"I'm fine with it." Angela naturally had no objections.

Omari turned to Grace, who remained silent, so Angela said, "Of course, Grace has no problem with it either."

Omari smiled slightly. "Alright, then. Let me know in advance what you'd like to eat, and I'll have it prepared."

Grace interrupted, "Sorry, something has come up. You two go ahead and chat."

Grace thought for a moment, unable to shake off Xavier's look from her mind. She felt she needed to talk to him again.

'We hadn't walked far, so if Xavier was still where he had been...' Grace thought as she turned and walked in Xavier's direction.

However, at the corner, she saw him, but he wasn't alone. Stephanie was with him.

Xavier had his back to her, so she could only see his silhouette. Stephanie stood beside him, gazing at him with eyes full of affection.

Loving someone could be seen in their eyes.

Stephanie clearly had deep feelings for Xavier.

Angela caught up. "Grace, what's wrong?"

Grace shook her head and forced a smile. "Nothing. I had something to discuss with Mr. Montgomery, but I'll go another day. Let's not disturb them."

"Then let's go to the restaurant," Angela said.

"Alright," Grace agreed. "Where are we going?"

"Just follow me."

Meanwhile, Stephanie was pleading with Xavier, "I rarely come to Skigeth, and you called my grandfather. Now, he wants me to go back. Xavier, that's so mean. I promise to behave and not bother you. Just let me stay here, okay?"

"Stephanie, you wouldn't like Skigeth," Xavier said, his cigarette burning between his fingers.

"You're right, I don't like Skigeth. It's poor and small, and the people here are so uncultured. But you're here. That's where I want to be. I want to be with you, isn't that good?"

Xavier's voice was cold, his refusal firm. "I don't need your company, and your life shouldn't revolve around me. You should have your own dreams, pursue what you want to do, not chase after a man and scheme against the women around him."

At least, Grace wasn't like that.

Grace knew exactly what she wanted to do. She knew it was a tough battle, but she still wanted to give it her all.

She was stubborn, with a never-give-up attitude. As long as there was a chance, she would push forward.

She wouldn't focus her thoughts on men. Maybe she even thought that men would only hinder her progress in making money.

She was just herself, living her own life, not revolving around others or living for someone else.

"But my dream is you. I want to be with you, to marry you someday. That's my dream," Stephanie said happily.

Xavier said once more, "Stephanie, I'm very grateful to the Park family's help in the past, but I've always seen you as just a friend."

When Xavier was fourteen, he went to Oakworth alone, and Joseph helped him.

During that period, he had already begun writing programs to generate income. His mind was brimming with ambitious visions and business strategies. However, he was still a child back then, and the journey ahead was undeniably challenging.

Everyone thought Xavier's programming was impossible; no one was willing to invest in his program. It was Joseph who saw his potential and bought it at a low price.

However, for Xavier, it was already a crucial sum of money.

He always remembered this kindness, and over the years, DG Group had been very generous to Park Group, involving them in projects or offering significant discounts.

Stephanie's parents had died when she was very young, and Joseph had raised his granddaughter alone while managing a group, which was no easy feat.

So Xavier decided if he could help, he would.

"I get it, stop talking," Stephanie interrupted impatiently.

She knew Xavier didn't like her and rejected her.

'But so what? As long as there were no other women around him, I would be the only special one.' Stephanie thought to herself.

"I'll go back, but before that, have a meal with me in Skigeth. That's not too much to ask, is it? Just this one small request, can't you agree to it? I just heard there's a great restaurant here. If you don't agree, then I won't go back," Stephanie said.

Xavier felt a bit annoyed by Stephanie's persistence, but he knew that most of his irritation didn't come from her.

It was a kind of restlessness he couldn't quite explain, even unsure of its source.

"Alright," Xavier agreed.

Stephanie was delighted. "Great, I'll make a reservation! Let's head out now!"

Grace and Angela left the racetrack together, and when they arrived at the restaurant, they found Omari was also there.

Seeing Grace's expression, Omari smiled gently. "Grace, why do you look so surprised to see me?"

Because Grace had walked with Angela and not with Omari, she had been lost in thought and hadn't heard Omari's invitation to lunch.

"My brother rarely treats us to a meal. Let's go," Angela said, placing her hand on Grace's shoulder and leading her inside.

The restaurant was very popular, and private rooms had to be booked half a month in advance. Even though Omari had made a last-minute reservation, he could only get a spot in the main hall.

It was mealtime, and the restaurant was crowded. As Omari led them in, he was about to gallantly pull out a chair for Grace when a waiter quickly said, "Let me do it."

Omari paused for a moment but didn't feel awkward. "I've already placed the food order. I hope it's to your liking."

Angela laughed. "Omari, you're in for it today."

Omari laughed as well. "One meal won't cut it. If you're hungry, just give me a heads up, and I'll treat you."

"Alright, then, Grace and I will have to take advantage of you for a few more meals."

Omari was more than willing. "No problem."

At that moment, two more people walked into the restaurant.

Stephanie was grumbling, "What kind of lousy place is this? Why can't they book a private room? Do they even realize who I am? The Park family could easily acquire this entire establishment!"

Grace heard the voice and looked over, pausing for a moment. 'It is indeed a small world.'

She suddenly remembered Xavier's words when he cornered her in the dressing room, telling her to stay away from Omari. And now, she was having a meal with Omari.

'If he saw it, would he get angry?'Grace questioned inwardly.

She hadn't done anything wrong, and she and Xavier weren't in that kind of relationship. Yet, she felt a guilty conscience, as if caught in an affair. She wished she could escape from this place.

She just hoped Xavier wouldn't look over, wouldn't see her!
