Chapter 559 So, Are You Moved?

Angela was dropped off by Scott. On the way, she felt like Scott had something to say, but in the end, he said nothing.

Angela pointed upstairs. "I'm heading up."

"Alright." Scott's Adam's apple bobbed.

His hand still touched the box, but he didn't take it out.

Angela walked into the building and got into the elevator. Just as the doors were closing, she heard a man's voice, "Hold the door!"

Angela quickly pressed the button to open the doors, and at the same time, a large hand grabbed the closing elevator door.

Angela's heart raced. She thought...

"Thanks a lot." A man walked in and gave Angela a grateful smile.

Angela felt a twinge of disappointment she didn't even realize was there. "No problem."

For a moment, Angela thought Scott had chased after her.

Angela shook her head. What were you thinking, Angela? Scott wouldn't chase after you.

Just because someone was nice to you didn't mean anything. It just showed Scott was a good person.

Angela got home, grabbed a soda from the fridge, and flopped onto the couch, staring at the ceiling.

Her phone rang, and she quickly picked it up. Seeing Grace's name, she felt a pang of something.

She thought it might be Scott?

She must be under Scott's spell. She needed to stop thinking about him!

Angela answered the call. "Hey, Grace."

Grace's voice came through. "Angela, I just saw what happened online. The livestream with Zander and Edith, was that your doing?"

Angela admitted openly, "Yeah, it was me, but Scott paid for it."

Angela chatted with Grace. "You wouldn't believe how cool Scott was today. He didn't even blink when he swiped his card. Who knows how many millions he spent."

"No wonder so many girls like those rich CEOs. The way they spend money without a second thought is really attractive."

Grace asked, "So, did you find it attractive?"

Angela immediately replied, "Of course not. I'm not that easily swayed. Haven't we seen enough rich people? Like Xavier, Sterling, they're loaded, and I didn't fall for them!"

Angela wasn't sure if she was saying this for Grace or for herself.

There were plenty of people richer and better than Scott. If she got swayed by every one of them, she'd be in trouble.

Besides, she didn't feel anything for others, so she definitely wouldn't feel anything for a narcissist like Scott.

"So, what happened today?" Grace asked.

Angela lay on the couch, sipping her soda, recounting the day's events.

"I didn't expect it, but Scott really stepped up when it mattered."

"I think Scott is hard to judge. Sometimes he's so annoying, but other times, he doesn't seem that bad."

"Anyway, Scott made Zander pay the price, and in the end, it seemed like Scott completely ruined him."

"Scott..." Angela kept talking, but it was clear her words were all about Scott.

Grace mostly listened, occasionally responding.

"In the end, Scott drove me home. He had nothing better to do anyway."

When Angela finished, Grace said, "Angela, everything you just said was about Scott!"

"Really?" Angela didn't feel it. "No way, you must be mistaken. I barely mentioned him."

Angela thought back and felt she hadn't mentioned him much.

"You definitely did. At least twenty times."

"It must be your imagination!" Angela denied it.

Grace played along. "Let's say it's my imagination. But Angela, are you sure you don't have feelings for Scott? Maybe you already like him?"

"That's impossible. I can't stand Scott. How could I like him? You know how annoying he is. We argue every time we meet. Don't overthink it!"

"I'm not overthinking." Grace actually thought Angela's reaction was a bit too strong.

They soon ended the call, and Angela lay on the couch, Grace's words echoing in her mind.

Like Scott? No way, not in this lifetime!

There were plenty of good men in the world. Even if Scott were the last man on earth, she wouldn't like him!

Absolutely not!

The next morning, Angela was woken by a knock on the door.

"Who is it?" Angela looked through the peephole and saw Ainsley, dressed to the nines.

What was Ainsley doing here? Was she here to confront her about bullying Edith yesterday?

"Say what you need to say, or get lost!" Angela didn't even open the door.

In the past, Ainsley would have been furious and called Angela ungrateful. But now, Ainsley held back her temper and put on a smile.

"Angela, open the door. Mom's here to see you."

Even through the door, Ainsley's voice gave Angela goosebumps. Was Ainsley possessed? Angela couldn't remember Ainsley ever speaking to her like this, let alone calling herself "Mom."

"Can you be normal?" Angela asked directly.

Ainsley really wanted to lose her temper. Seeing Angela always annoyed her. But now, she had to speak softly and coax her.

After all, Angela had married such a capable husband.

"Angela, open the door. Mom wants to talk to you. I brought you breakfast. You have to go to work, right? Eat something first."

But Angela didn't care about Ainsley's self-pitying speech.

Angela went to wash up, ignoring whatever Ainsley was saying outside.

This Angela, she never changed. She didn't see me as her mother at all. She didn't even tell me she married such a good husband, insisting she married a poor man.

The Turner family never mistreated her. But now, did Angela want to abandon them and keep the Coleman family's wealth for herself?

Not a chance!

"Angela, open the door! Open the door!" Ainsley finally dropped the act.

After all, Angela was her daughter, and they were family. Even in court, she had the right to demand support from Angela. Angela should give her money.

And the Coleman family was shameless, thinking they could marry Angela without spending a dime. Dream on.
