Chapter 161 Helping You, Only to Be Betrayed?

Though they spoke of entering, there was no movement inside. Scott and Steven's hands were not on the doorknob, unlike Daniel, who had directly opened the door and entered.

Scott patiently knocked again and said, "Steven, it seems like no one is inside. Could it be the wrong dressing room?"

Just as he finished speaking, the door was opened from within. They all looked inside expectantly, but contrary to their expectations, it was not a woman who resembled his aunt, but a man.

"Who are you?" Scott asked upon his recent return to the country. With minimal involvement in business matters, he left the management of the family enterprises primarily to Steven abroad. Living a carefree lifestyle, Scott indulged in activities of his choosing.

Steven spoke first from behind, "Mr. Montgomery?"

Xavier, seeing Steven, slightly parted his thin lips, "Mr. Coleman is here too?"

Xavier had met Steven by chance during a business trip abroad. The Coleman family, originally residing abroad, had developed so well that they were well-known even there.

Xavier was unaware of Steven's return to the country, which seemed to have been conducted secretly.

Steven, about the same age as Xavier, appeared gentle and refined. But in reality, his cunning and methods were no less than Xavier's.

Steven was adept at disguising himself, whereas Xavier disdained such pretense.

It was said that the Coleman family had strict family rules, but Grace had managed to attract the brothers of the Coleman family.

Steven and Scott both looked inside, hoping to see Grace. Grace was sitting there, having re-tied the scarf around her face.

Xavier, tall and imposing, stood at the door, blocking Steven and Scott's view, showing no intention of letting them in.

"Mr. Coleman, how can I help you here?" Xavier asked indifferently.

Scott said, "We just saw a girl who looks like a relative of ours from the stage, so we wanted to come and take a look."

Xavier's lips curled into a sneer. "Is this how the Coleman family strikes up a conversation nowadays?"

"You!" Scott was infuriated. 'What does he mean by outdated ways of striking up a conversation?'

Usually, he was the one criticizing others for their outdated methods. This was the first time someone had said that to him. And this wasn't even a conversation starter!

"Mr. Montgomery, Scott is telling the truth. This lady indeed resembles a relative of ours. Could we possibly meet her and have a few words?" Steven's gentle and refined voice reached Grace inside. It sounded different from someone like Daniel.

Curious, Grace looked towards the door and met Scott and Steven's eyes. Steven was once again shocked; those eyes were indeed a spitting image of his aunt's.

Grace walked over but did not remove the veil from her face. She stood behind Xavier. "You say I look like your relative? May I know the name of this relative?"

Steven said, "Elizabeth Coleman."

Grace was unfamiliar with the name. She shook her head, uttering, "I'm sorry, I haven't heard of that name. Perhaps you have mistaken me."

After all, they had only seen her eyes. To claim someone was a relative based solely on the resemblance of eyes seemed rather far-fetched.

"How old are you?" Steven asked.

Grace replied, "I will be twenty-four soon."

Twenty-four. If Elizabeth's child had been born, they would be around this age.

"Then what is your mother's name?" Steven asked again.

Grace did not answer directly but said, "My mother's surname is Clark."

'Clark? Could it be that she really wasn't Elizabeth's daughter, and they had made a mistake?' Steven was uncertain now.

"Could you remove your veil and let us take a look?" Steven wanted to see Grace's face one last time to confirm.

"Mr. Coleman, my girlfriend is probably not the person you're looking for," Xavier intervened, blocking them.

Who knew what ill intentions Steven might have?

"Sorry to bother you," Steven said. They were too eager to find Elizabeth. After all, so many years had passed, and it was his grandfather's wish to find Elizabeth.

"Let's go," Steven said to Scott.

Having got nothing, Scott widened his eyes. "We're leaving just like that? But we haven't seen anything yet. Steven, isn't she Aunt Elizabeth's daughter?"

Steven walked away briskly, saying, "I don't know."

Scott lost in thought about those eyes that resembled Elizabeth's, didn't pay much attention to the path ahead.

Angela, holding her phone with a video she had recorded, looked puzzled. She needed to share the news with Grace quickly, so she walked fast, not expecting anyone at the corner.

As a result, Angela and Scott collided at the corner.

Angela clutched her forehead, suspecting, 'Was she having an exceptionally unlucky day?'

"Don't you watch where you're going?" Scott asked, wondering why people always seemed to bump into him.

"It's you?" Angela's happy expression vanished instantly upon seeing Scott. She almost rolled her eyes and, without apologizing, muttered, "Bad luck!"

Without another glance at Scott, Angela walked straight towards the dressing room.

"You! You!" Scott was infuriated.

'Was Angela doing this on purpose? She is so arrogant, bumping into him without apologizing, and then calling him bad luck.'

"Alright, be a gentleman to the ladies. You'll understand when you meet a girl you like one day," Steven said.

"That will never happen. I will never get married. All those women who approach us do so because of our family's status and money," Scott responded.

And none of them were to Scott's liking. To him, all women were the same.

Steven said nothing more and went directly to the organizer of the fashion show to inquire about Grace's information. Since Xavier had given prior notice, the organizer was reluctant to disclose anything.

Steven didn't press the issue. He had his ways. Soon, his subordinates obtained the information of everyone involved in the fashion show, including Grace's name. She was a model, but the girl in the photo didn't quite match the Grace he had seen on the runway.

He immediately ordered an investigation into the girl and her relatives. Soon, the information arrived in his inbox. The face in the photo bore no resemblance to Elizabeth, confirming she was likely not Elizabeth's daughter.

Grace closed the dressing room door and turned to face Xavier's slightly darkened gaze.

"I didn't expect Miss Clark to be quite popular." Xavier's voice was cold, his expression ambiguous.

"Those two just mistook me for someone else. Mr. Montgomery, is there anything else? I really need to change my clothes," Grace said, fearing someone else might come. She wanted to leave quickly, or rather, return to her original appearance.

Xavier's eyes darkened. 'Is she trying to chase him away?'

"I just helped you, and now you're turning your back on me?" he asked.
