Chapter 494 Do you want to go back to The Bameran Villa, or do you want to get a room?

"Where can I find you?" Xavier's voice was incredibly hoarse.

"Of course, at The Bameran Villa. I didn't expect you to be here too. It's like we have a telepathic connection." Grace clung tightly to him, inhaling the pleasant scent of Xavier.

"From now on, I'll come to find you. Whenever you want to see me, I'll be by your side."

"It's easy to say, but hard to do."

"I, Xavier, never break my promises, especially to you."

"Then say it twice next time. I'll record it so you can't deny it later."

"I can say it as many times as you want."

Even though they had only spent a short time together, it felt like a passionate reunion after a long separation. They just walked around downstairs for a couple of hours without realizing it.

Grace had to go back, but Xavier held her, not wanting her to leave.

"Stay with me a little longer." Xavier's lips brushed against her ear.

"It's too late now. It wouldn't be good if Grandpa found out."

"Then take me to meet your grandpa. I'll work hard to make him accept me."

Grace thought for a moment. "That might be difficult. Grandpa's heart isn't very good."

What if Chase got too excited seeing Xavier and had a heart problem?

"I feel like a secret lover." It was the first time Xavier described himself this way.

Clearly, they were in a legitimate relationship, but he had to sneak around to see Grace.

Grace said, "You said you'd listen to me."

"Then you need to give me a proper status."

"Speaking of which, your probation period isn't over yet!"

Xavier had always ignored the probation period, thinking he had already passed it.

"Others get promoted early based on their performance. My performance should be pretty good.

"Your performance is just average." Grace turned her blushing face away.

They were in the car, and the space was already small.

Now, leaning against each other, even the air seemed hot.

"What's average? So, what is Grace dissatisfied with?" Xavier's hand rested on Grace's waist, gently tickling her.

Grace dodged a bit. "This counts as bribing the boss; points deducted!"

"Bribery or not, as long as it works." With that, Xavier's lips covered hers.

He kissed Grace, his hand on her slightly rounded belly, already over four months along, forming a small curve.

They lingered for a while. Grace felt she had been out long enough and said, "I really have to go back."

"Okay."

"You should go back too."

"I'll leave once you're inside," Xavier said.

They got out of the car, and Xavier watched Grace. She had already walked inside, but when she turned back, she saw Xavier still there.

The lighting in the neighborhood wasn't very bright. Xavier's body was in the shadow of a large tree, his elongated figure looking a bit dim and somewhat pitiful.

Grace had found her family, but Xavier was still alone.

Now she had loving brothers and Chase, but Xavier was still alone.

At that moment, her heart ached with a dense pain, and she felt sad.

Grace paused, and Xavier waved at her, signaling her to go inside.

Grace walked forward. Once she was in the living room, she couldn't see Xavier anymore.

Her nose suddenly tingled, and she felt a sense of discomfort.

Grace entered the elevator, went upstairs, and opened the door to find Chase still in the living room, just in time to meet her gaze.

"Grandpa," Grace called out.

Chase said, "When did you go out? It's so late."

"Just now," Grace said. "I had a bit of indigestion after dinner, so I went for a walk."

"You didn't eat much tonight," Chase said.

But Chase didn't say much more and continued watching his TV show with interest.

Grace returned to her room but couldn't fall asleep.

Her mind was filled with the image of Xavier when she left.

Xavier didn't ask her for anything, didn't ask her to stay with him longer, but inexplicably, Grace felt a sense of discomfort in her heart.

His world might only have her, but just now, it felt like even she had abandoned him.

Grace tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep. Then, as if making a decision, she suddenly sat up.

Putting on her coat, Grace opened her room door. Chase was still sitting there.

Grace said, "Grandpa, I have to go out for a bit. I might not come back tonight."

Xavier was still downstairs. He lit another cigarette. He had been smoking more lately since he hadn't seen Grace much.

They had just parted not even an hour ago, but he already missed her.

At this time, Grace was probably already asleep or chatting with Chase.

She had found her family, and so many people loved her. Xavier was happy for her.

He couldn't sleep anyway, probably another sleepless night, so he might as well stay here for a while.

At least here, he was closer to Grace.

The ground was littered with cigarette butts. Xavier had smoked several, still not wanting to leave.

It was almost 1 a.m., and there weren't many people coming out, just the occasional latecomer going inside.

Another cigarette butt fell to the ground. Xavier wondered if he should light another one when he heard a voice: "You said you'd leave once I went inside. You broke your promise; points deducted!"

Xavier looked up to see Grace standing there in her coat.

Xavier was stunned, thinking it was a hallucination, but then he saw Grace walking towards him.

Grace reached out and waved her hand in front of Xavier's eyes. "What are you looking at? Don't you recognize me?"

Xavier's Adam's apple bobbed. "Weren't you going to sleep?"

"Can't I come out after going in? If I didn't come out, how long were you planning to stand here?"

Grace laughed. "What kind of weather is this? Aren't you cold-wearing so little? Or are you trying to attract other girls?"

"No, no other girls," Xavier's throat tightened.

"This time I'll let it go, but next time, after we say goodbye, you have to leave. Otherwise, I won't come looking for you."

Xavier tentatively asked, "So, did you come out to bring me clothes?"

"Could you be able to guess boldly? I told Grandpa I had something to do tonight and wouldn't be coming back, which means I have no place to stay tonight."

"So, Mr. Montgomery, do you want to go back to The Bameran Villa, or should we get a room?"
