Chapter 481 This Guy Is Still So Dumb
Angela quickly hung up the phone and apologized to Zander, "I'm sorry, Mr. Ross. My husband can't be without me. He's too clingy."
"You said you didn't plan to get married, didn't you?"
"Yes, I don't plan to get married, but I can still date. And our relationship is very stable. I love him, and he loves me."
Zander sneered, "Ms. Turner, aren't you oversimplifying things? Love isn't the only thing that matters between adults. Financial stability is also very important. I can give you endless money."
"Thank you, but are you choosing a wife or buying something? It's not just about having a lot of money, Mr. Ross. Goodbye, I won't see you out."
Angela didn't plan to say more and quickly returned to the hospital room.
Ainsley was sitting in the room. Angela walked in and said, "Can you stop wasting your efforts? I'm very busy and don't have time to play along with your act."
"Listen to what you're saying. I'm doing this for your good. You're my daughter. Would I harm you?"
"I already have a boyfriend, so you don't need to worry about me, thank you."
"What's so good about your boyfriend? He's just good-looking, but he has no money. Is he worthy of our family? You're a member of the Turner family, not just anyone can marry you. Zander's family is wealthy and influential. Do you know how much he can help our family?"
Angela coldly replied, "Watch your words. My boyfriend is a person. If you like him so much, why don't you let Edith marry Zander?"
"How can you and Edith be the same? You..."
Ainsley realized that what she said was inappropriate. She had promised to speak nicely to Angela.
"I have my plans for Edith. Angela, Zander is the most suitable for you. I wouldn't choose wrong for you. You would live a life of luxury."
Angela smiled, but there was no warmth in her eyes.
Luxury, she really made it sound nice. If it were such a good thing, would Ainsley think of her?
"I've already made it clear to him. I won't marry him, so give up."
Angela looked at Ainsley, "Since you're fine, I'll be leaving now."
"Angela, you ungrateful daughter, I don't have a daughter like you!" Ainsley clutched her heart, feeling like she was about to explode with anger.
However, Angela didn't look back. She didn't want a mother like Ainsley either.
Edith had been secretly watching everything. Seeing this, she quickly came over and asked, "Mom, are you okay?"
"I'm so angry!" Edith helped Ainsley calm down, "Mom, Angela is too much. You're in the hospital, and she's still making you angry. You're doing this for her good. Isn't your heart all for her? She's just ungrateful."
Edith's words made Ainsley even angrier, and she felt that her sincere efforts were not worth it. She was doing this for Angela's good. Zander was so wealthy that Angela wouldn't have to worry for the rest of her life.
Didn't she say she didn't want to have children? This way, she could directly become a stepmother. What's so bad about that?
"Mom, if I were Angela, I would definitely listen to you. But now, Angela is like this, isn't she offending Mr. Ross? Won't that make the Omari project even harder to progress?"
"She must get married. This is not up to her!"
Angela smirked, hugging Ainsley.
Angela received a call from Grace, who sounded worried, "Angela, are you okay? I heard from Scott that you're acting again?"
Angela said, "Don't mention it. That woman from the Turner family must have been influenced by Edith again. She found me another man. This time, it's not even a blind date. She wants to marry me off directly. You have no idea how unbelievable it is!"
There are too many unbelievable things in this world. Is marriage really like a commodity, measured by price?
Why must one marry for money instead of finding someone they genuinely like?
Angela didn't feel she lacked money. Her studio's annual income was in the millions of dollars, which she felt was enough to live on.
Why should she give up her own company to take care of someone else's child?
"She didn't make things difficult for you, did she?" Grace asked.
"No, they can't make things difficult for me." Angela never bottled up her anger. If those people wanted to make her life difficult, then no one would have it easy.
The Turner family kept calling her boyfriend poor. If they knew Scott's true identity, they might be scared to death.
The Coleman family's assets could buy countless Turner families. They really looked down on people, and just thinking about it made Angela angry.
However, Angela didn't plan to reveal Scott's identity. After all, Scott wasn't really her boyfriend.
"Tell Scott not to overthink. I'm just playing along. There's nothing more to it. There might be many more times like this in the future, so he should be mentally prepared."
"Don't worry, I'll tell him."
Grace hung up the phone, and Xavier came over, hugging Grace, "Why are you getting angry too?"
Grace said, "I just think the Turner family is too much. They don't treat Angela as a daughter, and now they want her to marry for alliance. Isn't this just like what happened with Zach?"
Zach did the same thing to curry favor with the Montgomery family. These people are all the same.
"She'll handle it herself. You don't need to worry about her."
"How can I not worry? She's my best friend. I want her to be happy."
"She knows your feelings. By the way, if you're free tonight, come with me to a party."
"What party?" Grace asked.
"Colin and the others are in Skigeth, and Lucius too. You know them. Let's also invite Victor and Isaac. Victor's personality is similar to Colin's. They might become friends."
"Sure, I haven't seen them in a long time."
Soon, it was evening, and Xavier took Grace to the bar.
Colin was already there. Victor, the host, had arranged everything very well. The bar was closed for the night and reserved just for them.
He and Colin hit it off immediately because they had similar personalities, they were both easygoing and talkative. They quickly became friends.
Lucius sat quietly on the side, looking at his phone, seemingly reading some news with a frown.
On his screen was news about Tristan getting injured on set.
Tristan had been filming recently and apparently got injured while doing a wire stunt. His fame had been growing, and he had been continuously filming.
Fans were heartbroken, seeing how hard Tristan worked. His sincerity was evident to them.
Lucius pursed his lips tightly. Getting injured while filming, Tristan was still so clumsy.
