Chapter 312 Sent to the Hospital
When Kelly got back, she walked into a total mess.
No way Amy could handle Samuel and Julia, who were tough from all that farm work. Her hair was a wreck, her face had slap marks, and her arms were all scratched up.
Ryan saw them beating on Amy, and all that anger from Kelly's manipulation just exploded.
"Get off my mom!" Ryan charged in to pull them away, but they wouldn't budge.
He grabbed Samuel and Julia, then socked Samuel right in the face.
Ryan's punch was no joke; Samuel hit the ground and couldn't move at all.
"Julia..." Samuel started coughing up blood.
Seeing this, the others let go real quick. Julia rushed to Samuel. "Samuel, Samuel, are you okay?"
"Help! Murder! Murder!" Julia started screaming.
Ryan, in his rage, hadn't expected to cause such a serious incident.
The servants quickly called for an ambulance, and Kelly, who had just returned, rushed over. "What happened?"
"Kelly, Kelly, save your father! He's been beaten to death! Samuel, what will I do if you die? If you're gone, I won't live either. I'll join you, and we'll haunt this family from hell!" Julia cried, lying on Samuel.
Kelly was super frustrated, and Ryan was just standing there, clueless, while Amy was freaking out.
Amy said, "Don't talk nonsense. You fell by yourself; it has nothing to do with Ryan. Look at what you two maniacs did to me!"
Amy was also worried. If Samuel really died, it wouldn't be good for the Montgomery family.
No one dared to help Samuel, but luckily, the ambulance showed up fast, and he was taken to the hospital. Julia insisted on a full-body check-up.
Amy didn't go; it was Ryan who went with Kelly.
"Kelly, your parents are too shameless; they're like thugs. No matter what, you have to get rid of them!" Ryan didn't think he did anything wrong; Samuel started it.
Ryan couldn't imagine what other terrible things might happen if Samuel and Julia stayed.
"Why should I do that? My mom is right. Now that we're married, half of this house is mine. What's wrong with my parents living here?" Kelly, now married, didn't want to pretend anymore.
Her goal was clear: she wanted the Montgomery family's money.
"Kelly, your family is going too far!" Ryan clenched his fists and gritted his teeth.
"How are we going too far? Isn't this only natural? If you don't like it, call the police or get a lawyer and see if I'm right!" Kelly felt secure now that she was married.
"You bitch! You won't get a penny from the Montgomery family. All the shares and properties are under my dad's name. Even if you decide to divorce and take half, it won't be much!" Ryan wasn't going to give Kelly any money; he didn't have much under his name anyway.
Kelly knew this well; so becoming a member of the Montgomery family was just her first step.
Ryan was useless; he was not only incompetent but also broke.
"Who said I want a divorce? Babe, we just tied the knot yesterday. Divorce already? No way!" Kelly slid her arm around Ryan's.
Kelly continued, "I know my folks are a handful. They treated me like crap when I was a kid, which is why I cut them off. Who knew Grace would drag them here? It's all Grace's fault!"
Kelly pinned all the blame on Grace; this mess was the perfect excuse to get Evelyn's ashes back.
Ryan said, "Kelly, I don't care how you do it, but you gotta send your parents packing."
Kelly replied, "It's tricky. I want to, but now that you've put my dad in the hospital, he won't leave easily. I'll try, but babe, there's something you need to do first."
Ryan asked, "What is it?"
Kelly said, "Grace's mom's ashes are with our dad, right? Can you get them? We can use the ashes to pressure Grace into sending my parents back."
Kelly figured it would be easier for Ryan to get Evelyn's ashes. After all, Ryan was Patrick's son, and he must have a way.
Ryan did want to get Evelyn's ashes. Patrick had almost agreed last time, but with the wedding, he hadn't brought it up again.
But now that Kelly mentioned it, he was super annoyed with her and snapped, "What if I don't?"
Kelly said, "Then I'll let my parents stay a few more days, but no promises. Your mom might be the next one in the hospital."
Ryan squinted. "Are you threatening me?"
Kelly said, "That's not what I mean. I want my parents gone more than you do."
Kelly was fed up with Samuel and Julia and didn't want to be manipulated by them anymore. But with Grace causing trouble, it would be tough without dealing with her.
Ryan thought Kelly made sense. Patrick was coming home soon. Ryan didn't want to stay at the hospital, so he left Kelly and went home.
When he got back, Amy was still on the sofa, crying, while Wendy tried to console her. Amy cursed Samuel and Julia, wishing them to rot in hell.
Soon, Patrick came back, and Amy immediately went to him, crying that life was unbearable.
Ryan approached. "Dad, I need to talk to you."
So Ryan and Patrick went into the study.
After returning to Oakworth, Xavier had a ton of work to do.
He didn't have much time to visit Joseph in the hospital and wanted to avoid seeing Stephanie, so he arranged for more servants at the hospital.
Stephanie thought that with Joseph in the hospital, Xavier would spend more time with her. But Xavier rarely showed up. He only came when she wasn't there or was asleep. It was clear Xavier was avoiding her.
Stephanie used Joseph's phone to call Xavier, "Xavier, why don't you come to the hospital to see Grandpa?"
Xavier said, "I'm not a doctor. My presence won't make Mr. Park recover faster."
Stephanie said, "But I'll recover faster. I'm also a patient, but you don't come to see me."
"I heard you went back to Skigeth a few days ago for Ryan's wedding. I was so busy I forgot to prepare a gift. Should I prepare one for Ryan now?" Stephanie hinted that she saw herself as a part of Xavier's life.
