Chapter 498 If they knew the truth, they definitely wouldn't let him off.
"That was just a test to see how you feel about Grace. Now it seems that Grace is indeed more important to you than money."
"The Coleman family has never been greedy. Although we may not be as powerful as the DG Group, we would never sell out our family for money."
"I know Grace likes you and speaks highly of you every day. Although I don't like you, I should respect Grace. I called you out today to see your attitude. I won't stand in your way, but that doesn't mean I support you two being together."
"This is the Coleman family's last chance for you. If you ever dare to bully Grace, the Coleman family will come after you with everything we've got!"
Xavier was delighted; Chase had agreed to let him be with Grace.
"Thank you, Mr. Coleman!" Xavier was very happy to receive the approval.
Chase waved dismissively, annoyed that this guy had stolen Grace away.
"I'm entrusting Grace to you. Besides not bullying her, making her feel wronged, or making her cry, you must promise me to protect her safety and ensure she doesn't get hurt. You should know she is the princess of our family, Elizabeth's only daughter."
"Mr. Coleman, don't worry. Grace is my girlfriend, and taking care of her is my responsibility."
Even without Chase's words, Xavier would protect Grace.
"I hope you remember what you said today. If Grace is ever unhappy or you ever wrong her, I will be the first to come after you, even if it costs me my life!"
Chase truly loved Grace, and Xavier knew it, so he said, "Mr. Coleman, rest assured, that day will never come."
Chase was unhappy, but what could he do? He could only personally supervise Xavier.
Chase left without having lunch with Xavier. Xavier then had food packed and personally took it to Grace's studio.
Grace saw him and asked, "Why are you here?"
Xavier said, "You haven't had lunch, right? I brought you some food and wanted to see if anyone else is trying to win your favor."
"Who else would there be?"
"You never know. My girlfriend is quite popular."
Grace and Xavier had lunch together, and Grace noticed that Xavier seemed particularly happy, even though he didn't say why.
"What's the good news?" Grace asked.
Xavier said, "Seeing you is good news enough."
Xavier's sweet talk was becoming more and more fluent.
In the evening, when Grace called Chase to ask what he wanted for dinner, Chase said he had moved out to live with Scott to supervise him and make sure he didn't bully his girlfriend.
"What did your grandpa say?" Xavier hadn't left yet.
Grace said, "Grandpa said he went to live with Scott."
"Does that mean I can come over tonight?" Xavier had been secretly meeting Grace these past few days, with very little time together.
Grace said, "Isn't that a bit inappropriate?"
"What's inappropriate about it?"
Grace and Xavier went back together, not noticing that someone in a nearby car was watching them.
Jared stared at Grace's face, frozen in place.
Memories of the past attacked him, his pupils dilated.
Elizabeth, Elizabeth!
That face, it had to be Elizabeth!
His body went cold, as if plunged into an ice cellar, unable to move.
He never thought he would see that face again. His head suddenly throbbed with pain, like a needle stirring inside.
It felt like someone was choking him, making it hard to breathe.
Elizabeth couldn't possibly be alive. With that kind of poison, she didn't have much time left. This could only mean that Grace was Elizabeth's child, and the Coleman family had found her. They seemed to have reunited.
Thinking about the past, Jared felt a chill all over.
If the old events were brought up again and the Coleman family learned the truth, they would never let him go.
He had loved Elizabeth so much, since childhood, but Elizabeth never saw him.
He couldn't be blamed for what he did back then. It was Elizabeth's fault for not liking him even a little, for running away from him to another man!
However, the Coleman family might not find out about these things, so Jared could be a bit relieved.
He still couldn't believe that Grace was really Elizabeth's daughter. She had been hiding her true appearance. Even Jane, the princess of Aetheria, had met her and didn't seem to recognize her true face.
This matter was too complicated. If Grace went to Aetheria with that face, it could cause big trouble.
Jared hadn't decided whether to tell Jane about this. He needed to plan carefully.
Jared knew Xavier wasn't easy to deal with and would easily notice him, so he didn't follow them.
Last time, Grace had appeared as Xavier's date. Now, seeing them so close, it explained everything.
The women of the Coleman family were truly remarkable. Elizabeth had managed to mess around with King Dorian, and Grace wasn't any less impressive, having won over Xavier.
Jared felt a surge of anger, thinking Elizabeth had betrayed him.
After Chase moved in with Scott, Scott felt doomed.
Previously, Chase had only urged him to find a girlfriend quickly. Now, he was pushing him to get married, saying he shouldn't miss out on a good girl like Angela.
Scott wondered what was so great about Angela that Chase seemed bewitched by her.
Chase said, "I don't care. I want Angela to be your wife. No one else will do. If you don't marry Angela, I'll run away from home!"
Scott was distressed, not knowing what to do.
Angela was also troubled because Ainsley had directly informed her of the wedding date, which was soon. Angela went back home immediately.
She directly questioned, "What do you mean by this? Forcing me to get married? I've already said I won't marry!"
Ainsley's face darkened. She had never seen such disobedience. Other daughters were so close to their mothers, but Angela never showed her any kindness. She was doing this for Angela's good. Marrying a rich man was better than marrying a poor one.
"You will marry whether you want to or not. We've already informed relatives and friends, and I've received gifts and money. I just wanted to let you know that this is not up to you. Stay home and prepare to be a bride!"
