Chapter 254 Remember to Wash my Clothes and Return Them

Grace glanced at Amy and Ryan. "Want to know who the murderer is? If you work with me, I can help you catch them."

Amy and Ryan exchanged looks. Amy snapped, "Quit messing around. I think you're the killer!"

Ryan, however, said, "Okay."

Amy was shocked. "Okay? I think she's the one causing all this trouble."

Ignoring Amy, Ryan told Grace, "I'll cooperate if you find the killer."

Grace knew she was innocent and needed Kelly to confess.

Soon, Patrick's subordinates brought Kelly to the hospital.

Ryan's eyes burned with hatred when he saw her. "It was you. It had to be you!" he shouted.

Kelly looked pitiful, her acting as good as ever. Tears welled up in her eyes. "Ryan, what's wrong? Are you sick? Is it serious?" she asked, sounding concerned.

Ryan, now aware of Kelly's deceit, felt nothing but revulsion. How could she make him feel such intense hatred?

"Get lost!" Ryan pushed her away. "Kelly, you're cruel."

Ryan was convinced it was her. She had called him yesterday, asking him to marry her, but he refused. Kelly was a madwoman, capable of anything when angry. She had schemed against Grace, her former best friend, so it was no surprise she'd scheme against him too.

"Ryan, I don't understand. I didn't know you were in the hospital; someone brought me here," Kelly said, turning to Grace. "Grace, did you do something to Ryan?"

"Yes, Ryan brought you here to abort the baby. He doesn't want this child," Grace said deliberately.

Kelly was stunned. This couldn't be true. She had made sure Ryan could never have children again. James's people had confirmed it. The baby in her belly was Ryan's only child, even though it wasn't really his. She planned to claim it was, forcing the Montgomery family to believe her.

"Ryan, this isn't true. You can't do this to me," Kelly pleaded.

Patrick played along. "Take her to the operating room."

"What are you doing? Why are you taking me to the operating room?" Kelly struggled.

"To abort the baby. Ryan doesn't want it," Grace said.

Kelly fought back. "Let go of me!"

She dropped the act, revealing her true nature. "If you abort this child, you'll regret it. This is the Montgomery family's only descendant. Ryan, you can't have more children. If you give up on this kid, the Montgomery family will have no heirs!"

"Kelly! So it was you!" Ryan clenched his fists.

Kelly decided to go all out. "Yeah, it was me. You all pushed me to this. Ryan, I love you. I just wanted to marry you. What did I do wrong?"

"But what about you? If I didn't hide, would you have spared me? If I didn't do this, would you have spared my child?" Kelly continued.

"You said you'd marry me and that you loved me the most. I gave you everything, and how did you treat me?"

Kelly laughed cruelly. "Ryan, the child in my belly is your only child now. If you don't marry me, I'll abort this child, and you'll regret it."

Her words made everyone fall silent.

Amy, feeling extremely aggrieved, slapped Kelly. "You bitch, I'll kill you!"

Amy vented all her frustration on Kelly, hitting her face and body hard.

Kelly wasn't afraid. "If you have the guts, kill me and the child together."

The more Amy hit, the angrier she got. She eventually collapsed on the hospital bed, crying.

The scene was intense, but Grace didn't plan to watch any longer. She quietly left the ward, not expecting Xavier to leave at the same time.

They both got into the elevator, neither speaking, the atmosphere awkwardly silent. Grace stared straight ahead, not daring to look around. Her heart was pounding; she was still nervous around Xavier.

As the elevator descended, Grace finally mustered the courage to speak. "Thanks for earlier."

Xavier had spoken up for her; otherwise, Patrick might have made things difficult.

Xavier's voice was calm and cold. "Thank me for what?"

"If it weren't for you, Patrick wouldn't have been so easy to talk to," Grace said.

Xavier replied, "I didn't do anything. I just came to see if Ryan was dead."

Xavier's presence was overwhelming, and Grace could only nod.

The elevator descended quickly, and after just a few words, they reached the first floor. Xavier stood still, and Grace stepped out first.

"I'll be going now," Grace said.

But after a few steps, Xavier's voice came from behind. "Remember to wash my clothes and return them."

Grace didn't expect Xavier to remember his clothes. She thought he had so many that he wouldn't care about this one.

"Okay, I'll wash it and send it to you," Grace said.

"I don't let strangers touch my clothes," Xavier said.

Grace understood. "I'll wash it myself, not take it to the dry cleaners."

Xavier glanced at her, and Grace added, "I'll bring it to you myself, okay?"

Xavier said nothing and walked towards the parking lot.

Grace's car was not far away. Just as she was about to go over, she heard Omari's voice. "Grace."

Grace stopped, surprised to see Omari there.

"Omari?" Grace was surprised. "Why are you at the hospital? Are you sick?"

Meanwhile, Xavier, who was about to get into his car, slowed his steps significantly.
