Chapter 409 Do You Want to Watch Us Get Intimate
Soon, it was just Grace and Sterling left in the room.
"Last time, Mr. Wallace, you left in such a rush and missed breakfast. How about I make it up to you with dinner? Maybe you could let Scott go?" Grace asked sincerely.
Sterling squinted, giving Grace a once-over. "Ms. Lewis, you sure know how to keep things under wraps."
Grace shrugged. "I've been wearing makeup since I was a kid. It's not just to hide from you."
Sterling took in her stunning face. If she hadn't been hiding her looks, she would've turned heads everywhere.
"Xavier doesn't know?" Sterling asked.
"He knows," Grace replied quickly.
Sterling stood up and moved closer to Grace, a smile playing on his lips. "Why don't you come with me?"
Grace blinked, taken aback. "What?"
"You're quite the looker. How about being my mistress? Xavier doesn't care about you anyway. Don't you want to get back at him?" Sterling reached out, pinching her chin to make her look at him.
This move let Sterling see her face even clearer.
Grace's eyes were bright and full of secrets; when she looked at someone, it felt like a gentle spring breeze, drawing them in. But her expression was cold; she was like a beautiful flower on a cliff, out of reach.
"Mr. Wallace, you must be joking. Xavier and I have no beef. Why would I want to get back at him? Besides, I don't do the mistress thing," Grace said.
"Aren't you Xavier's mistress? You don't think he sees you as his girlfriend, do you?" Sterling thought he had come to Skigeth too late. If he had come earlier, Grace might have been his.
Sterling continued, "I'm generous. I can give you anything you want, more than Xavier. And I don't look worse than him. Think about it?"
Grace didn't hesitate. "No."
Sterling's smile turned sinister. "Aren't you afraid I might hurt your brother?"
"Scott belongs to the Coleman family. You might be tough, but the Coleman family isn't to be messed with. You wouldn't want to make such a powerful enemy over something so small; it's not worth it," Grace said coldly.
Sterling looked at Grace with admiration.
He wondered how Xavier could have let someone as amazing as Grace go, thinking he might regret it later.
Grace reached up to push Sterling's hand off her chin when suddenly the door burst open.
Grace and Sterling turned to see Xavier standing there, his face full of anger.
Sterling pulled her into his arms, wrapping his hands around her waist. He mocked, "Mr. Montgomery, how rude of you to barge in without knocking. Didn't you see we were getting cozy?"
Xavier's arrival didn't faze Sterling; he would've been surprised if Xavier hadn't shown up.
Xavier's eyes locked onto Sterling's hands on Grace's waist.
Xavier knew Sterling was dangerous. Last time, he said he didn't like Grace but still wanted to pursue her.
Sterling was skilled, and Xavier worried Grace would get hurt.
"Mr. Wallace, if I remember correctly, I told you my vacation estate doesn't welcome you," Xavier said, his eyes bloodshot.
"Business is business, Mr. Montgomery. If you really want to kick me out, that's fine. Grace and I can just go somewhere else. You don't have a habit of following us to watch us get cozy, do you?" Sterling said, clearly trying to provoke him. He was even more aggressive than Omari.
After all, he and Xavier had been rivals for years, and they knew each other inside out.
To Sterling, Xavier's expression was a sign of anxiety.
Once a guy like Xavier started caring for Grace, he inevitably became vulnerable.
Sterling saw this as a golden opportunity to mess with Xavier. Even if he couldn't take down Xavier and make the Wallace Group number one, he could still annoy him and make his life miserable.
When Xavier walked in, Grace was caught off guard.
She didn't even realize Sterling was holding her. When Xavier's eyes locked onto her, she felt like she was caught cheating by her boyfriend.
But she quickly reminded herself that Xavier wasn't her boyfriend anymore. He had no say over how many men she dated or who she chose to be with.
Grace thought it wasn't a big deal being apart from Xavier.
She just wanted Xavier to know she was doing fine.
Grace tugged at Sterling, saying, "Let's go."
At that moment, she would rather be with anyone but Xavier, even Sterling.
Xavier noticed Grace's small gesture of pulling Sterling. It was something she used to do with him, like a subconscious action.
With that gesture, Sterling suddenly reached out and grabbed Grace's hand.
Grace tried to pull her hand away, but Sterling's grip was too strong. He even brought her hand to his lips and kissed it tenderly, making it look intimate.
In a coaxing tone, Sterling said to Grace gently, "It's rare to see Mr. Montgomery. How can we leave without catching up? Let's chat a bit more."
Then, as if he had a sudden realization, Sterling added, "Oh, and Grace is very shy. She doesn't like being intimate with me in front of outsiders."
Hearing Sterling call him an 'outsider,' Xavier's gaze darkened even more.
Every word Sterling said was meant to test Xavier's limits.
Despite Xavier's cold stare, Sterling wasn't afraid at all.
Then, Sterling deliberately leaned close to Grace's ear, making her blush.
He even reached out and played with her hair. "Already shy?"
Sterling was much more skilled at flirting than Omari.
Sterling continued, "Mr. Montgomery, since you like it here, we'll leave it to you. Grace and I can be intimate somewhere else."
His tone was so gentle that Grace felt like she was being stared at by a venomous snake, giving her the creeps.
But Grace couldn't worry about that now; Sterling wrapped his arm around her and led her away, treating Xavier like he was invisible.
Grace felt Xavier's sharp gaze on her back, but she tried her best to ignore it.
As Sterling and Grace were leaving, Scott called out, "Grace!"
"Scott, I'm going to have dinner with Mr. Wallace," Grace responded.
"Count me in," Scott said, not trusting Sterling one bit.
Sterling gave Grace a look, signaling her to handle it.
Grace said, "Scott, it's just a simple dinner. Mr. Wallace and I have known each other for a long time. Don't worry."
"Did you hear that? We've known each other for a long time. Maybe one day, you could even become my family," Sterling said loudly, clearly teasing Xavier.
Scott exclaimed, "What?"
He hadn't expected Grace to become so popular, to the point where even someone like Sterling was after her.
