Chapter 216 What If Grace Is Pregnant

Grace's cheeks were as red as apples, showing her shyness. She had a pink glow, making her look charming and bashful.

Xavier was talking about undressing. Last time, he had to show her how, and now he was demonstrating again.

His shirt was right in front of her, and all she had to do was unbutton it.

"I..."

Xavier's hand covered hers, his voice husky. "I'll show you one last time."

The atmosphere was intimate and charged.

Grace tilted her head back, her hair cascading down like a waterfall, looking stunning.

Only Xavier had seen her like this, and thinking about it made his eyes darken with desire.

She panted, calling out, "Xavier..."

Realizing something was off, she quickly corrected herself, "Mr. Montgomery..."

Xavier wasn't happy with "Mr. Montgomery." Many called him that, but Grace didn't need to.

"You're not my employee, don't call me Mr. Montgomery," he mumbled.

Grace took a breath. "Then what should I call you?"

"What did you call me before?"

Grace tried to remember. Sometimes she called him Xavier, sometimes Mr. Montgomery.

"Xavier?" she tested, then quickly added, "But I've broken off the engagement with Ryan, is this okay?"

Her soft, delicate voice made it hard for Xavier to control himself. Especially in such a close moment, Grace brought up Ryan. Despite the engagement being called off, her relationship with Xavier still had an air of taboo about it.

"Why can't you call me that? Or, call me something else."

'Something else?' Grace thought.

She half-opened her eyes, looking at Xavier. She was still on top of him and hugged his neck.

Her lips, naturally rosy from his kisses, parted slightly, making her look seductive.

"Darling? Honey?" she tested. As soon as she spoke, Xavier kissed her forcefully.

"Xavier..."

Grace felt like she was drowning. It was as if she had pressed a switch, and he couldn't stop.

In the end, she lost consciousness, collapsing in his arms.

After settling her onto the bed, Xavier reflected on his actions. He felt impulsive and reckless.

When Grace called him "Darling," he wondered - what if she got pregnant?

Xavier's touch traced her flat stomach. There was no sign of life yet.

If Grace got pregnant, they would keep the baby. Xavier wasn't irresponsible. He wouldn't have allowed this to happen before, but his thoughts had changed a lot now.

If he had a child with Grace, if she married him...

The next day, Grace woke up to find Xavier already gone, likely busy at work.

Struggling to lift her hand, Grace grabbed her phone and saw it was almost nine. She didn't want to get up; her body felt like it was falling apart. All she wanted was a few more moments of rest before heading home.

Grace wrapped herself in the blanket like a caterpillar, rolling on the bed, trying to shake off last night's memories.

Just then, the bathroom door opened, and Xavier walked out with only a towel around his waist. Fresh from the shower, his hair was still dripping, and his muscular body was covered in water droplets. Red scratch marks from last night were visible on his back.

"You didn't go to the company?" Grace asked, surprised.

"It's the weekend," Xavier replied calmly.

Though he often worked overtime, today he decided to take a break.

Grace tried to get up. "Then I'll get ready to go back."

"It's rare to have a weekend off. You should rest. What do you want for lunch? I'll have the maid make it," Xavier offered.

"I'm not picky," Grace replied.

She had lunch at the Bameran villa and spent the afternoon in the study with Xavier. He was working on his computer while she read a book beside him.

Although Xavier hadn't lived in the Bameran villa for long, it was well-equipped. The study was large, almost like a small library, with books of all kinds.

Grace was engrossed in her reading and didn't notice Xavier taking a call. It was from Victor, who said they hadn't gathered in a while and invited Xavier to dinner that night.

"Not going," Xavier said bluntly.

"Don't be so quick to refuse. How about I invite Grace too? She just broke off her engagement; we can celebrate," Victor suggested.

Xavier was silent.

Victor quickly hung up, and within seconds, Grace's phone rang. Seeing Victor's name, she answered.

Victor had helped her a lot. Without his help, breaking off the engagement wouldn't have been so smooth.

"Mr. Hastings."

"Grace, let's celebrate tonight. Congrats on breaking off the engagement," Victor said.

"Sure, I'll treat," Grace agreed.

"No way, someone else will pick up the tab. Since you agreed, I'll go find Xavier..." Before Victor could finish, Xavier's voice cut in.

"She's not going," Xavier said.

"Fuck!" Victor almost dropped his phone. "So you two are together. Why didn't you say so earlier?"

Though he knew Xavier and Grace had an unusual relationship, being together all the time was too intimate. No wonder Xavier was so concerned about Grace's online issues; he was probably eager to replace Ryan after the engagement was broken off!

"Grace already agreed to meet tonight. Are you coming or not?"

"She has a cold; she can't drink," Xavier said.

"I'm feeling better, I can drink. So it's settled, we'll have dinner tonight. If Xavier doesn't come, let him be," Grace insisted, thinking she should treat Victor to dinner for all his help.

Victor laughed. "Alright, forget about him. He's the old man trying to keep up with us. We young folks won't play with him!"

Xavier was speechless.
