Chapter 167 Secretly Taking His Picture

Angela turned around to look for Grace, only to find that Grace was nowhere to be seen. She reached for her phone to call Grace, but noticed a message from her instead.

"Had something to take care of, left early?" she murmured to herself.

Angela looked around but couldn't spot Grace anywhere.

Grace had followed Mason to the lounge area. Xavier was sitting on the sofa, his long legs crossed, with a laptop in front of him. He had been working non-stop since the plane ride. He rubbed his temples, looking extremely fatigued.

"Mr. Montgomery, Miss. Lewis is here," Mason said.

Xavier paused his hand at his temples and looked up to see Grace. He had noticed Grace and Angela walking together when he disembarked from the business class but had no intention of disturbing them, merely glancing at them a couple of times. Who knew Mason would go over and bring Grace here?

"What are you doing here?" Xavier asked.

"I..."

This question indeed stumped Grace. How was she supposed to explain her presence here?

Xavier didn't know she had gone to Oakworth. After all, in everyone's eyes, she was just an ordinary girl, completely different from the beautiful Mia.

Xavier had encountered Mia in Oakworth, not Grace.

"Angela got off the plane, and I came to pick her up!" Grace found a perfect excuse.

After saying this, Grace watched Xavier's expression. She saw him lower his eyelashes, appearing nonchalant about the situation.

"Mr. Montgomery's driver is at the door. I have some matters to attend to. Miss. Lewis, could you please ensure Mr. Montgomery gets home safely?" Mason asked.

"I'm not sure it's on my way."

As soon as Grace finished speaking, Mason said, "Thank you, Miss. Lewis."

Grace looked at Xavier, who was rubbing his temples, looking genuinely uncomfortable.

'Is he really in pain or just pretending? Why not have Stephanie take him?' she pondered.

Xavier raised his hand and looked at Grace. "Come here."

She was reluctant, but her feet moved faster than her mind, already walking towards Xavier.

"Do you know how to massage?" Xavier's hoarse voice came through.

"No," Grace replied stiffly.

"I'll teach you."

Xavier took her hand and placed it on his temples. The nerves there are quite sensitive, and if not done by a professional, it could easily go wrong. But Xavier trusted Grace.

It felt like a needle was stirring in his temple, pressing on his nerves, causing pain and discomfort.

Seeing him enjoy it, Grace still gently massaged him.

Grace moved behind Xavier and said, "Xavier, if you trust me, close your eyes."

Xavier didn't trust anyone and never listened to anyone. But after Grace spoke, he closed his eyes.

Grace took a bottle of perfume from her bag, sprayed it on her wrist, and then waved her hand in front of Xavier. The scent wasn't strong but had a relaxing effect.

Grace gently massaged Xavier's temples. The faint fragrance lingered around his nose, and his furrowed brows gradually relaxed.

Xavier suffered from severe headaches throughout the year, making it hard for him to sleep at night. The inner agitation seemed to be soothed, and his consciousness drifted, allowing him to rest briefly.

Seeing Xavier leaning against the sofa, seemingly asleep, Grace stopped her movements.

It seemed her perfume was quite effective; some incense also had sleep-inducing properties, but incense could be too strong for some people.

Grace lowered her gaze and saw Xavier's sleeping face.

He was truly handsome, with a prominent brow and sharp features. When his eyes were open, he looked stern and indifferent, exuding a strong sense of oppression that was quite intimidating, making Grace afraid to look at him directly. Now, asleep, he seemed less distant.

His nose was high and straight, his lips thin, and his skin exceptionally good. It wasn't just women who could be beautiful enough to start wars; sometimes men could be too.

Xavier was so handsome. It was no wonder so many women liked him. But he was usually so cold and his words so venomous—what did those women see in him? Was it just his face?

Grace's eyes remained unblinking as she scrutinized him, attempting to discern the source of Xavier's charm.

Her heart pounded as she picked up her phone and took a picture of Xavier's face.

Indeed, only good-looking people could be photographed from any angle without a bad shot. If she ever fell on hard times, she could sell Xavier's photos; they might fetch a good price.

Just as Grace was about to put her phone away, she saw someone at the door staring at her with wide eyes.

She quickly pocketed her phone as the person walked in. "Hello, I'm Mr. Montgomery's chauffeur. You must be Miss Lewis. I noticed Mr. Montgomery hadn't come out yet, so I thought I'd check."

"He's resting right now. Let him sleep a bit longer," Grace replied.

"Alright," the driver agreed.

The atmosphere grew quiet, and Grace felt a bit embarrassed.

"Just now..."

The driver quickly said, "I didn't see anything."

Grace was speechless. She hadn't said anything, yet the driver acted as if he knew everything.

"Could you please not tell Xavier?"

No sooner had Grace spoken than a voice came from behind her. "What shouldn't he tell me?"

Grace turned to see Xavier already awake. He had only slept for a short while, less than twenty minutes. But for Xavier, it was enough; at least, the headache had subsided.

"Nothing, really nothing," Grace stammered, surprised at how quickly Xavier had woken up. "Why don't you sleep a bit longer?"

"No, let's go back to the Bameran villa."

"Yes, sir," the driver said, heading to the car.

Grace followed Xavier out and got into the car, thinking they were heading to the Bameran villa. To her surprise, the car stopped at the entrance of her apartment complex.

Grace looked around. "But I promised Mr. Clark I'd get you safely back to the Bameran villa."

Xavier raised an eyebrow, his eyes hidden in the darkness taking on a playful glint. "Do you want to come back to the Bameran villa with me?"

"That's not what I meant. I just promised Mr. Clark." Grace said.

"There's a driver; you’re not needed. Or do you want the driver to drop me off and then take you home?"

"I don't have that intention!"

"Then go rest. I don't need you to take me," Xavier said calmly. He knew Grace had been busy these past few days, and it wasn't early. She could go home, take a bath, and rest well without making another trip.

"Alright, send me a message when you get home," Grace said, still in the car. She suddenly remembered something and rummaged through her bag, pulling out several items and placing them next to Xavier.

"This little cake is delicious; you should try it. And these candies are good, too. If you forget to eat and get low blood sugar, have some to boost your energy."

Grace added, "And this medicine, take it if your stomach hurts."

Grace gave Xavier everything she had, not realizing the concern and care in her voice. Some of the items were specialties from Oakworth, unavailable in Skigeth, and she gave them all to Xavier.

After handing over her things, Grace waved at him, ready to get out of the car. "I'm going now. Goodbye."

"Wait," Xavier called out.

"Do you need something else?" Grace asked.

Xavier suddenly leaned in, reaching out to brush a strand of hair from Grace's face. His fingers touched her earlobe, and she flinched.

Her heart raced uncontrollably, pounding as if it would leap out of her chest. 'What is he trying to do?

"Don't move," Xavier said.

He leaned in closer, his handsome face almost touching Grace's. The feeling was so familiar, it made Grace feel flustered.
