Chapter 385 Seeing Chase Again

Grace barely got any sleep and was up even before Angela.

When Angela finally woke up, she freaked out a bit when she saw Grace wasn't in her room.

But then she found Grace in the kitchen. Angela rushed over, "Grace, you gotta be more careful."

Grace just smiled, "Just making breakfast. Nothing to worry about."

"I'll take over," Angela insisted, shooing Grace out of the kitchen. She quickly whipped up some breakfast.

"Grace, you should just stay home today. Don't go to the office," Angela said, noticing Grace's puffy eyes.

"Alright, I won't go to the office. But I need to head to The Montgomery Mansion," Grace replied.

"The Montgomery Mansion? Want me to come with you?" Angela asked, her ears perking up at the name Montgomery.

Grace shook her head, "Nah, I just need to ask Patrick some stuff."

Seeing Angela's worried face, Grace added, "Seriously, it's nothing. I'll be back for lunch, okay?"

"Okay," Angela finally agreed.

It was the weekend, so Grace figured Patrick might not be at the office. She headed straight to The Montgomery Mansion.

Outside, she spotted another car pulling up.

Scott stepped out, and Grace was surprised, "Scott?"

Scott looked just as shocked, "Grace?"

"Aren't you supposed to be in Aetheria?"

"Aren't you supposed to be in Oakworth?"

They both spoke at the same time and then laughed at the coincidence.

"I went, but I came back," Grace said. "What are you doing here? Where's Steven?"

"Steven's busy," Scott said, clearly excited. "I'm here to pick up my sister. We found her!"

"Really?" Grace was thrilled. She knew how long they'd been searching for their sister and how much Chase missed his daughter.

If it was true, it would be a huge deal for them.

"Congrats, but you're picking her up at The Montgomery Mansion?"

"Yeah, my sister is Wendy Montgomery, Patrick's daughter," Scott said, grinning.

"What? Wendy?" Grace couldn't believe it. She always thought Wendy was Patrick's kid.

Scott explained, "It's a long story. After we split at the airport, a girl bumped into us. She looked a bit like our aunt, so we did a DNA test. Turns out, we're related."

"Patrick said Wendy was adopted when she was young. She doesn't want to acknowledge us yet, but I want to spend more time with her. Maybe she'll come around and visit our grandfather."

Grace still found it hard to believe Wendy had any connection to the Coleman family.

In her mind, this had to be one of Patrick's tricks.

But faking a DNA test? That seemed like a stretch. Would Patrick really go that far?

Just then, Wendy walked out. When she saw Grace, her heart skipped a beat. She quickly put on her sunglasses and looked down.

Before, she would've gone up and mocked Grace.

But now, she felt guilty and didn't dare to talk to her, especially with her obvious eye bags.

"Scott, you promised me lunch! Let's go!" Wendy clung to Scott's arm.

"Alright, Grace, we're heading out," Scott said with a faint smile.

"Okay, bye," Grace waved as they left.

Finding Wendy was big news, and Steven immediately told Thomas.

They didn't want to tell Chase right away, but he overheard.

Wendy didn't want to go to Aetheria with them. She didn't even want to leave Skigeth, but Chase couldn't wait and insisted on seeing Wendy. So Thomas had to bring Chase to Skigeth.

Steven set up a meeting at a restaurant, and Scott came specifically to pick up Wendy to meet Chase.

But when Scott arrived, he was shocked, "What do you mean Grandpa is missing?"

Thomas was frustrated, "The airport is helping us look. I've reported it to the police, but they need 24 hours to file a missing person report. Our influence here in Skigeth is limited, but we're doing our best to find Grandpa."

"Then let's hurry and look for him too!" Scott said urgently.

So, the three brothers each went in different directions, worried that Chase, given his age, might run into trouble.

Wendy was left alone, feeling annoyed. What was wrong with these people? They asked her to come, and now they left her.

Meanwhile, Grace found that Patrick and Kelly weren't at The Montgomery Mansion.

Patrick was probably at the office, and Kelly seemed to be planning a trip. Grace needed answers, so she drove straight to the airport.

In the airport parking lot, Grace saw a familiar old man.

It was Chase from the Coleman family.

She thought she must be mistaken since Chase was supposed to be in Aetheria; it seemed impossible for him to be in Skigeth.

But that face was exactly how she remembered him from Aetheria.

Scott had said they found their sister, so maybe Chase came from Aetheria.

After some thought, Grace got out of the car, "Mr. Coleman, what are you looking for? Where's your family?"

When Chase saw Grace, he tightly grabbed her hands, "Elizabeth, Elizabeth!"

Grace realized it was indeed Chase.

"Mr. Coleman, I'm Grace, not Elizabeth," she said gently.

"Elizabeth, you are my Elizabeth!" Chase excitedly held Grace's hands.

It was cold, so Grace let Chase sit in her car, turned on the heater, and called Scott and the others.

Hearing that Chase was found, the three brothers finally breathed a sigh of relief.

In the car, Chase held Grace's hands tightly, "Elizabeth, my Elizabeth."

"Mr. Coleman, I'm really not Elizabeth's child. I heard from Scott that you found your granddaughter? If it's really Wendy, I know her, too."

It was quite a coincidence that it was Wendy.

Patrick was a cunning guy, always having something up his sleeve. Grace decided to remind Steven and the others once they arrived, urging them to triple-check everything; otherwise, Patrick might be up to something again.

"You are Elizabeth's child, my granddaughter!" Chase's eyes didn't blink.

Grace said, "I feel a connection with you too. It's fate that we met in Aetheria and now here. But unfortunately, I'm not that lucky. My mom's name is not Elizabeth; it's Evelyn. Have you heard of that name, Mr. Coleman?"

Chase shook his head, seeing those eyes that so closely resembled Elizabeth's, feeling it was impossible for Grace not to be Elizabeth's child.
