Chapter 327 She Wants James Dead
The girl was bawling and hollering.
For a hot minute, it was pure chaos, but no one had the guts to step in.
One of the waiters finally had enough and said, "Hey, miss, what's going on? If she messed up, she can say sorry. You're both girls; no need to mess up someone's face."
Stephanie shot him a death glare. "Who do you think you are, trying to stop me? Do you even know who I am? I'm the heir to the Park family!"
In Oakworth, everyone knew the Park family. The second Stephanie dropped her name, anyone thinking of stepping in backed off real quick.
Nobody wanted to mess with someone as powerful as Stephanie.
The waitress? Just unlucky to have ticked off Stephanie.
But Stephanie wasn't done. "Why are you sticking up for her? What's your deal with her? You sleep with her or something? Is that why you're playing hero?"
The waiter turned red. "Ms. Park, that's too much. There's nothing between us."
Stephanie cackled. "Nothing? If there's nothing, why are you helping her? It's scum like youthat I won't let off !"
As she said that, she pinched the girl hard.
The girl kept her mouth shut. She was just a lowly worker with no power or connections. She wasn't even that pretty and only made tips by serving drinks. She had no clue how she had pissed off Stephanie.
Stephanie jabbed the waitress's face with her finger. "Get out of Oakworth, or I'll make sure you disappear for good!"
The waitress was scared out of her mind. Just then, the bar manager came over and sweet-talked Stephanie for ages before she finally let the waitress go.
But the waitress was still totally clueless about what she did wrong. She had been minding her own business, but Stephanie had walked right into her.
The waitress thought, 'Does having money mean you can just bully people like this? Working here, I've seen too many drunk jerks, and it's always us staff who get the short end of the stick.'
And Stephanie? Even the manager had to kiss up to her. She was not someone they could afford to piss off. The waitress had to just suck it up.
Meanwhile, the Montgomery family was in a mess.
Kelly was suspected of attempted murder and should've been locked up, but Patrick bailed her out. Kelly was pregnant; jail wasn't the place for her.
Even though Kelly was out, she could be called in anytime to help with the investigation.
Kelly's parents' issues weren't even sorted, and now this huge drama.
Patrick was fuming at Ryan over the ashes. Ryan had taken them, promising to keep them safe and never let Grace have them. But now, Grace had them!
Ryan didn't see this coming and went to chew out Kelly, "Kelly, why didn't you talk to me before taking the ashes?"
Kelly felt wronged. "I thought you took the ashes from Dad to give to Grace. I figured you were busy, so I delivered them to Grace myself."
Ryan snapped, "Then why the hell did you try to kill Grace? You know murder's illegal, right? Don't even try to deny it; we're not idiots!"
Kelly knew she couldn't dodge this one and needed the Montgomery family's help. So she came clean, "Yeah, I set it up. I wanted Grace gone. She's a pain. If it wasn't for her, my parents wouldn't have come here. I know you like her, but that's exactly why I had to get rid of her!"
Ryan was fuming. "Kelly, are you out of your mind?"
Kelly shot back, "My husband loves another woman. You think I can just sit back and take that? It's all because of you. In the end, it's my fault for loving you too much."
Ryan was speechless. Kelly did love him deeply. Even though she'd done some messed-up stuff, it was all because she loved him.
"Who was the guy trying to kill Grace?" Ryan asked again.
Kelly shook her head. "I don't know him. Found him online."
Kelly pleaded, "Babe, I know I messed up. I won't do it again. Grace is fine, right? She's not dead; she's perfectly fine. This shouldn't count as murder; I didn't do it myself, so I'm not the culprit. The real culprit is that guy lying in the hospital. If he wakes up and the cops question him, he'll definitely rat me out. Babe, you gotta make sure he never talks."
Ryan was floored by Kelly's words. "What are you saying? You still wanna kill someone?"
Kelly cried and shook her head. "No, I didn't mean that. What if he doesn't make it? I'm so scared, babe. I'm in the most critical stage of pregnancy. They say babies at this stage are prone to miscarriage, so I can't be stressed. If I don't eat or sleep well, what'll happen to our baby?"
Kelly took Ryan's hand and placed it on her belly, letting him feel the baby inside.
She knew Ryan would soften because if anything happened to this baby, Ryan wouldn't have another child.
Kelly continued, "Babe, can you feel it? This is our baby. We can't let it suffer before it's even born. Babe, talk to Dad. I can't go to jail. I can't go to prison. How will our kid tell other kids about his mom? Will he have to say his mom went to jail?"
Ryan softened a bit. "You better behave from now on. If this happens again, I won't save you."
"I'll never do it again," Kelly lied.
After Ryan went upstairs to the study to find Patrick, Kelly wiped her tears with the back of her hand and quickly changed her expression.
James was still in the hospital, and this was the best chance to kill him.
Kelly had to act because James knew too much and was a loose cannon, so she had to shut him up.
Only the dead could keep secrets. If she couldn't deal with Grace, could she not handle James?
As for who would do it, Kelly already had someone in mind. Samuel was still in the hospital; it was the perfect opportunity. They wanted money and a house, and she could give it to them, but only if...
