Chapter 439 Mental Breakdown
Stephanie quickly grabbed the iron bars, her eyes full of hope. When she finally saw Xavier's face, her face lit up with hope.
"Xavier, is that you, Xavier!"
Stephanie didn't dare blink, afraid she was dreaming.
Xavier appeared like a god, radiating light, coming to save her!
"Xavier, I missed you so much. They all bullied me. You have no idea how much I've suffered here. You must avenge me, arrest all these people. I want them to experience the same pain!"
Stephanie couldn't hold back any longer and started crying, as if to vent all her grievances.
However, Xavier, separated by the iron door, remained unmoved. His expression was cold, and his gaze was chillingly frightening.
Stephanie cried for a while before realizing that Xavier hadn't moved at all. She wiped her tears, feeling even more panicked. "Xavier, what's wrong? Hurry and get these people to let me out."
"They must not know I'm your girlfriend, the future Mrs. Montgomery. Otherwise, they wouldn't dare treat me like this!" Stephanie's tone was anxious.
"You're not my girlfriend," Xavier's voice was almost cruel.
Stephanie's eyes turned red. She had lost so much weight during this time, and her clothes were dirty. Although there was a bathroom, she couldn't possibly wash her clothes herself.
Her hair was messy, and she probably didn't even realize how terrible she looked.
"Xavier, what do you mean? Are you refusing to admit it? Yes, I'm not your girlfriend, but I'm your future wife. Xavier, let them release me. We need to discuss our wedding, right?"
Xavier's expression was indifferent, and his gaze towards Stephanie was devoid of any warmth.
Stephanie finally panicked. "Xavier, what do you mean? Are you going to go against Grandpa's wishes?"
"When Grandpa died, you promised him you'd marry me. Grandpa died because of you. How can you live with yourself? Aren't you afraid Grandpa will come back to haunt you for revenge?"
Stephanie was nearly hysterical, her eyes red like a mad woman .
"Stephanie, how did Joseph really die?" Xavier asked directly.
Stephanie's eyelashes trembled, her face showing shock, but she quickly recovered. "What do you mean? How did Grandpa die? You know better than I do. If Grandpa hadn't taken that bullet for you, he wouldn't have died. Xavier, how dare you ask me now!"
Stephanie had no confidence. She had been locked up here and had no idea what was happening outside or what Xavier had found out.
But Aiden couldn't possibly have found out because their plan left no traces.
"Stephanie, I'll give you one more chance. Did you arrange the shooting? Was your grandfather's death related to you?" Xavier's gaze was piercing and terrifying.
Stephanie was shocked, not knowing how Xavier had guessed in this direction.
"Xavier, what nonsense are you talking about? That was my grandfather, my only family in the world. He was so good to me. How could I harm him? Did someone tell you something? Don't believe those rumors. They're all slandering me. I would never hurt my grandfather!"
Stephanie tried hard to convince Xavier. She didn't know if he would believe her, but the fact that he suspected her meant he had found something.
She couldn't admit it. If she did, Xavier would abandon her without mercy, and she would lose her chance to marry him.
She was so close to marrying Xavier. She had even made him break up with Grace. She couldn't fail at the last moment.
"He has already confessed. Are you still going to deny it?" Xavier said directly.
"Who is he?" Stephanie was shocked.
Impossible. Xavier couldn't have found out so much.
Xavier mentioned Aiden's name.
Stephanie was completely panicked. "That's impossible."
How could Aiden have confessed? He had promised her.
Stephanie reached out, trying to grab Xavier's hand through the iron bars, but Mason blocked her before she could touch him.
Mason said directly, "Ms. Park, after our investigation, it's a fact that Aiden was involved in inciting murder. On the day of the incident, you had Mr. Park send Mr. Montgomery back. Is that correct?"
"I didn't!" Despite remembering it clearly, Stephanie denied it.
"I have a recording that might refresh your memory." Mason played the recording. Although it wasn't very clear, Stephanie's words could still be heard.
"No, it's not like that. I was just being kind, asking Grandpa to send Xavier back because I was afraid Xavier was drunk that night. I had no other intentions. Grandpa was my biological grandfather. How could I have someone kill him? Xavier, believe me, let me explain!"
"Do you want me to listen to your explanation or your excuses, Stephanie? You killed the person who loved you the most, and you still don't dare to admit it."
When someone goes mad, they can do anything.
Didn't Stephanie regret it? Didn't she realize she had made the worst decision?
"I didn't, I didn't." No matter how Xavier asked, Stephanie kept denying it.
She couldn't admit it. She couldn't.
"Mr. Montgomery, Stephanie's psychological defense hasn't collapsed yet, but from her guilty expression just now, she's definitely involved," Mason whispered to Xavier.
Xavier looked at Stephanie with disgust.
"You can deny it, but no one will save you here. If you tell the truth, I might let you out. If you say nothing, you'll be locked up here for life. Think about it."
"Imprisonment is illegal. I can sue!" Stephanie's face was full of fear.
At this point, Mason said, "Ms. Park, you can't get out. How will you sue? Does anyone in this world remember you? Is anyone willing to offend the Coleman family for you? The person who would have risked everything for you is no longer in this world."
Seeing Stephanie's devastated expression, Mason continued, "Actually, it's not so bad in here, Ms. Park. You have food and a place to stay."
"You just won't see the sunlight for the rest of your life, never get out, living like a rat in a sewer. No one will remember you. Your life and death mean nothing to this world. You'll live like a fool, unable to do anything."
